Pre-orders for Gears of War: E-Day opened on June 7, 2026 across Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC and Steam. Four purchase options exist: a Standard Edition sold digitally and physically, a digital Premium Edition, a digital Premium Edition Upgrade for people who already own the Standard Edition, and a separate Collector's Edition. The game is also playable day one through Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass with no purchase at all.

The Premium Edition Upgrade carries the same digital contents as the Premium Edition and is sold separately for Standard Edition owners. The Collector's Edition bundles the Premium Edition digital upgrade alongside its physical contents.
Early Access
The Premium Edition, the Premium Edition Upgrade and the Collector's Edition all include up to five days of early access starting October 1, 2026, ahead of the global October 6 launch. Platform and subscription detail is on Release and Platforms.
Pre-Order Bonus
Pre-ordering any edition, including the Collector's Edition, grants two items, available in-game from the start of early access on October 1.

Digital pre-orders are granted automatically with no code to redeem. Physical pre-orders may receive codes by email or on a printed receipt at launch, depending on region and retailer. Pre-orders also granted early access to the Open Beta weekend in August 2026.

The four remaining Seasonal Customization Packs are released as they become available. Each contains two character skins, two weapon skin sets, two poses, and one banner, emblem and icon.
What the Premium Content Means for Earning
Premium Edition content is one of exactly three categories in this game that cannot be earned through play, alongside charity bundles and a small set of partnership items. Everything else, including over 60 launch character skins, is obtainable with the free Coins currency. The full model is on Cosmetics and Currencies.
The Bravo Squad Signature Weapon Pack is the one edition item that is not a multiplayer cosmetic: it is for use in the campaign only.
