Accessories change combat stats, add conditional effects or support a particular role. Compare the effect and weight together: carrying a heavier accessory can offset its benefit for a unit whose speed is already under pressure.
Shields add protection at a weight cost. Choose a resistance shield for mixed magical pressure or a stronger defense shield for physical attacks, then check whether the extra weight changes the unit's attack speed.
