Added the launch key visual of the four Heroes to the route differences section
11Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave splits into four route campaigns, one for each of the Heroes who fought at the Heroic Games in 1449. Two prologue chapters are shared by every playthrough. At the end of them the protagonist reaches a chamber holding four obelisks, and touching one sends them five years into the past and hands control to that Hero. Progress is tracked separately for all four, so the routes can be played in parallel instead of one after another.2233The Four Routes4455Each route is named internally for an animal, matching the obelisk that starts it. Chapters within a route are written in the form "Fox Part 1 Chapter 1", so a route is divided into numbered Parts and then numbered chapters. Each route also carries a Part I subtitle pairing the Hero with an epithet.667788RouteHeroStarting obeliskPart I subtitleFoxCaiFox ObeliskCai, Hell's-EyeLionDietrichLion ObeliskDietrich, the Ravishing ShadowWolfTheodoraWolf ObeliskTheodora, Breaker of ArmiesEagleLedaEagle ObeliskLeda, Siren of the Six-String99The epithets come from the obelisk text read in the preview build. They are consistent across the sources that have quoted them, and they are recorded here on that basis. Cai's is also first-party: a character video Nintendo published on September 22, 2026 is captioned "Hell's-Eye Cai."10101111The Three Parts12121313A route is not one campaign that stops when the tournament does. The story runs in three Parts after the Prologue, and the Part number in a chapter title is what tracks them. Part 1 is played four times over, once per Hero, at twelve chapters each. Part 2, titled War, is also played once per Hero, but its six chapters are essentially the same for all four, with small cutscene changes depending on the Hero. Part 3, titled Salvation, is played once, by the protagonist, and only Heroes who have finished their own War Arc take part in it.14141515PartWhat It CoversHow It Is PlayedPart 1The Heroic Games in Dagsion in 1449, entered by Cai, Dietrich, Theodora and LedaFour separate campaigns of twelve chapters, one per Hero, playable in any order and in parallel. Opened from the four obelisks in the Obelisk ChamberPart 2The war against the Dagdan Empire that follows the tournamentThe same four way split. Accounts of the finished game describe the Part 2 maps as running close to identical across all four routes, with the differences sitting mostly in dialogue. Six chapters with no Free Time or world map, opened from the Strife Obelisk; a Hero's War Arc can be skipped after the first, at the cost of some experiencePart 3A single finale led by the protagonist, fought with whichever characters came through the earlier Parts aliveOne shared campaign of six Sections, entered through the Door of Destiny. The door can be taken at any time, even straight after the Prologue with only Eshmel, Hong Hua and Troy (a fight the game lets you retreat from), but only Heroes who have finished their War Arc join1616A Hero whose paralogue has been finished, but whose own Part 1 route has not, still joins Part 3 in a limited capacity: available in battle, but not for story scenes or supports. Once all four Part 1 routes are complete, no one is limited, so clearing side content back in 1449 changes who stands on the field at the end.17171818The rewind that makes the whole structure work is five years wide. The framing story runs in 1454 of the Dagdan Calendar and the Games chapters run in 1449. Story and Plot Structure covers the frame itself.19192020Why Each Hero Enters21212222The four campaigns are not four difficulty settings on one story. Each Hero signs up for the Heroic Games for a reason of their own, and the wish promised to the winner is what each of them is actually chasing.23232424HeroRouteReason for EnteringCaiFoxHis father Castor has been imprisoned. She would spend the wish on her people’s long-held aim of annexing Cybele and rebuilding the temple to Yu PhasLedaEagleRevenge for her murdered father. She enters after learning that his killer, Bertrand the White-Maned Demon, is competing2525The Obelisk Chamber26262727The chamber sits beneath the temple of Fortuna in Dagsion. In the game's own description it is a special space Fortuna prepared, situated inside a city that is being swallowed by the underworld and yet free of the undead. It holds four obelisks, each tied to one of the warriors who fought at the Games, and touching one lets the player intervene in that fighter's past. It doubles as a small hub, with Hong Hua and Troy available to talk to, a giant clock standing behind it and a place called the Shrine of Causality alongside.28282929Swapping Heroes30303131Once a route is underway, Heroes are swapped at the Pale Raven's Perch, which Nintendo describes as a spot where a mysterious white bird rests its wings. Progress is saved for each of the Heroes, so playing through all four of their stories in parallel is an option rather than a commitment to finish one before starting another.32323333The obelisk room is also where campaigns are switched. The chamber sits in the present, in the 1454 half of the story, so stepping back into it is what moves the player from one Hero’s past to another’s. In the finished game the chamber is the home base from which every path in every Part is entered, and one guide describes reaching it by talking to the Pale Raven in Dagsion once a route reaches Chapter 4. On that reading the Perch is the doorway and the chamber the hub beyond it.34343535The Perch carries its own small systems as well: a feeding mini-game played as the protagonist in bird form, a Notable Deeds record that awards karma shards for achievements, and Boons of Salvation, which spends those shards on experience and proficiency bonuses that apply across the whole save file and can be switched on or off.36363737Four Versions of the Same Events38383939The four campaigns cover the same tournament from four sides, and the Heroes turn up in each other's routes as opponents. Theodora and Leda both appear as bosses in Cai's route, and Cai appears as a boss in theirs.40404141Previews describe the routes as four different versions of the events rather than four strands of a single timeline running at once. That distinction matters when the same match shows up in two routes with different outcomes. The framing comes from hands-on impressions rather than from Nintendo, so treat it as the best current reading rather than a settled fact.42424343Saving44444545The game uses a single save file with frequent autosaving rather than a set of rotating manual slots. Several previewers flagged this specifically, since it means a route cannot be branched off and kept as a second copy. Route progress is preserved per Hero within that one file.46464747Replay and Carry-Over48484949The finished game has no New Game Plus by that name. Instead, completing any Part 1 route unlocks Replay from Any Chapter, which keeps a bookmark at the start of each chapter of that route. Replaying a chapter loads it as it was when first reached, while support levels, temple Bless levels, Notable Deeds and Boons of Salvation are global to the save and are never rolled back. Replaying a route from Chapter 1 imports its map exploration and subquest completion, and replaying Chapter 12 of a Part 1 route updates the state that route carries into its Part 2. Parts 2 and 3 can be replayed chapter by chapter in the same way.50505151Map exploration and generic subquest completion carry into a later Part 1 route only if the earlier route was finished and the new one is started from the beginning, which makes playing one route through before starting another the efficient order. Character levels and items do not carry between Part 1 routes, but they do carry forward into Parts 2 and 3.52525353In Part 3, characters recruited on more than one route can be combined. The player picks which version to field, and Merge Causality spends Karma Shards to merge them; stats are not added together, but the higher value of each replaces the lower. The developers gave the example of a character raised as a mage on one route and as a swordfighter on another ending up with both sets of strengths.54545555After the Credits56565757After the final Part 3 credits the player can load a Clear Save placed before the final boss. The save gains a new icon, every Part becomes replayable at will, and replaying the Prologue on a Clear Save unlocks two extra scenes about Fortuna's plan, which fill the missing Prologue entries in the Shrine of Causality's list of events.58585959Starting the Prologue Again60606161The Prologue can be replayed at any time to change the difficulty, the Casual or Classic setting, or Eshmel's appearance, without losing progress on any route; the cost is playing the two Prologue battles again. A preview account called this option Descend Again. A separate guide describes a Change Difficulty option at the Shrine of Causality that can only lower the setting, from Hard to Normal.626263636464Differences Between Routes656566+6667The routes are not cosmetic variations on one script. Recruitment requirements can differ from one path to another, so a character who joins readily in one route may ask for more standing in another. Each Hero also brings commands the others do not have: Dietrich can flush out enemies in hiding, and Theodora can recruit soldiers in towns and send her assembled troops out to gather materials or deploy them in battle. Per-Hero quirks extend into the hub as well, since Cai is underage and cannot enter taverns. See World Map and Exploration and Between-Match Preparation.67686869Guides to the finished game set out what each Hero has that the others do not. Two things are visible across the clips. Each Hero has a small core that turns up repeatedly, and several maps field more than one Hero's clan at the same time, which is why the same unit shows up under different banners. Route attribution below is the best current reading rather than a label taken off the screen: in several clips the path is inferred from the party present, so treat the whole table as provisional.74757576RouteUnits Seen TogetherBattleFoxCai with Tialla, Peter, Guzran and Noctula; Dietrich with Fabio; Anatolia with Sha LanAgainst the Thundercloud KnightsLionDietrich with Fabio and Mikaela; Anatolia at a lower level than in the Fox clipAgainst the Thundercloud Knights, a second readingWolfTheodora with Bonaventure, Tobias, Lysander, Lilian and Sofia; Talimun with Ursula; Anatolia with Sha LanAgainst the Forgotten Alcor soldiersEagleLeda with Sirocco, Mu, Catania, Buccar, Olympia and Jasmine; Cai with Tialla; Talimun with UrsulaAgainst the Sisters of BragançaEagle, laterLeda with Buccar, Mu, Sirocco, Olympia and Sofia; Anatolia with Sha Lan; Orchel with DiegoAgainst the Palma Fighters7677Two names in that table are worth flagging. Jasmine leads the Palma Fighters and is fought as a boss elsewhere in the same route, yet appears in Leda's own party against the Sisters of Bragança, which fits the pattern of rival-clan members being fought in one place and recruited in another. Sofia turns up on both the Wolf and the Eagle side, which is consistent with her being a temple unit rather than a clan member.77787879Prologues and Chapter Numbering79808081Two prologue chapters run before the four routes open. Together they form the Prologue, titled Descent: Chapter 1 is The White Bird and Chapter 2 is The Ruined Land. After them every chapter carries a route name, a Part number and a chapter number, so a route runs through its Parts with its own chapter numbering inside each. Eshmel and Hong Hua are playable from Prologue 1, and Troy joins during Prologue 2.81828283Prologue 2 is the tutorial fight against corrupted forms of the four Heroes, and a fifth boss stands with them. Each of the five fights in a class none of them uses as a playable unit, which is the clearest published look at how the corrupted versions differ from the originals.83848485Prologue 2 BossClass Fought InCaiOrichaldiaDietrichSwordmasterTheodoraSentinelLedaDancerLindHigh Savant8586Chapter titles from the finished game are collected below.
