11 Certification exams are the route from one class to another in Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave. Instead of promoting automatically at a set level, a unit sits an exam for the class it wants, and passing it opens that class up. Exams are taken by speaking to an Exam Proctor in Dagsion during the free time between matches of the Heroic Games.

55 Passing is not guaranteed. The chance of success depends on who is taking the test and the class they are aiming for, so a unit should have the necessary skills before applying. That framing makes the exam a check on preparation rather than a formality: a unit whose weapon ranks are still short of what the target class expects can still sit the exam, but its odds are worse for it.

77 Reports from the exam screens describe the pass chance rising as the relevant skills close in on the recommended levels, which fits the way the system was described on camera. The exact numbers behind the roll have not been shown.

A magic class can list a primary requirement only. Three sets have been read off the exam menus so far, all of them for Advanced classes.

1414 On top of the letter grades, every Advanced class shown so far is reported to want a Renown level of at least 8 and a recommended character level of 35. Renown is a tracked progression stat earned from story progress, quests and helping townspeople, and it gates other things besides classes. One preview also puts the unlock for Specialty class exams at Renown level 4. Both figures come from single readings of a menu, so they are provisional.

1818 The class-change screen carries a second option alongside the exam: reclassing, for classes a unit has already qualified for. Once a class is certified it stays available, so moving back and forth does not mean sitting the exam again. Hands-on accounts also describe the screen showing how a unit's growth would shift before the change is committed.

2626 The published material does not say what happens on a failed exam, whether an attempt costs time or gold, or whether every unit can reach every class. Requirements for Beginner and Specialty classes have not been shown either, beyond the reported Renown level 4 unlock for the Specialty tier.
