11The Bardinger is an Advanced mounted class introduced in Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave. Its in-game description reads: "An elite who gallops across the battlefield with alacrity, punishing foes from horseback." Nintendo's dedicated presentation used it as one of three examples of how much a class changes a unit, naming Bardingers as the ones who fight on horseback.2233Profile4455FieldValueTierAdvancedUnit typeCavalryMovement6ProficienciesRiding, Sword, LanceClass skillsMount/Dismount, Combat Arts +2, AegisJapanese nameバーディンガー (Bādingā)66Six Movement is the joint highest figure published for any class so far, matched only by the Cataphract and the Specialty-tier Light Cavalry. Where the Cataphract pairs that reach with armor, the Bardinger keeps a sword-and-lance profile and leans on speed of arrival instead.7788Class Skills991010SkillHow It Is LearnedMount/DismountInnateCombat Arts +2InnateAegisClass mastery, at an unpublished class experience cost1111Mount/Dismount being an innate class skill rather than a menu action is worth noting: dismounting is something the class carries, not something every mounted unit can do by default. Combat Arts +2 attaches to Combat Arts, the stronger attacks that spend weapon durability, and the same skill also appears on the Dreadnought. Aegis is the mastery reward and unlocks only once the class itself has been mastered. None of the three has a published numerical effect yet beyond what its name states.12121313Certification141415+1516Requirements read off the exam menus put the Bardinger at Mounted C as its primary requirement, with Spear B and Sword B as secondaries. Like every Advanced class shown so far it is also reported to want a Renown level of at least 8 and a recommended character level of 35. Those figures come from single readings of a menu screen and are provisional. The mechanic itself is covered on Certification Exams.16171718Name18191920The English name most likely comes from barding, the body armor fitted to a war horse, which suits a class whose whole identity is what it is riding. The Japanese name is a direct transcription of the same word.20212122Class Stats22232324As of September 2026, no base stats, growth rates or stat modifiers for the Bardinger have appeared on any class screen or presentation. The movement value above is the only figure available, and every stat table for the class is currently empty. See Classes for the wider tier structure.24252526Related Pages26272728For where the Advanced tier sits against Beginner and Specialty, see Classes, and for the test a unit has to pass to reach it, see Certification Exams. Dreadnought carries the same Combat Arts +2 skill, and Cataphract matches the 6 Movement while adding heavy armor.
