Magicite is the material Final Fantasy Resonance spends on Vision Awakening, the three-stage track that deepens a Vision the party already holds. Square Enix detailed the system on August 24, 2026: magicite found along the journey awakens a Vision, granting it stronger abilities along with higher-level skills and magic. The supply is limited, so spending it is a decision rather than a routine.
What Magicite Buys
Awakening runs in three stages, and every stage calls for a higher grade of magicite than the one before it, paying out stronger abilities plus higher-level skills and magic in return. Because the supply is finite, Square Enix frames the choice of which Visions to awaken as one the player has to make rather than a checklist to finish. The stage-by-stage rules are set out at Vision Awakening.
Magicite is not what feeds the other two ways a Vision grows. Affinity rises by fighting battles with that Vision equipped, and Mastery Ranks accumulate from mastery points earned in battle; neither draws on the magicite supply. Both layers are covered at Abilities and Mastery. The Mastery Ring from the Digital Deluxe item pack speeds affinity and leaves the magicite bill untouched.
Where It Comes From
Two in-world sources are confirmed, and a single piece arrives as a pre-order item.

|---|---|
Dungeon treasure chests | Magicite lies inside chests found in dungeons. The optional high-difficulty Secret Dungeons named on August 24, 2026 are dungeons in the same sense. |
Powerful monsters presiding over the caverns dotted across the land. Defeating one grants magicite, and they are the only optional track Square Enix has tied explicitly to the material. | |
Magitek Airship & Squire Starter Pack | A single Magicite Shard ships in the pre-order item pack; the full contents are listed at Editions and Pre-Order Bonuses. |
That puts the material on both halves of the optional layer: cavern hunting is the repeatable half, dungeon exploration the other. The whole layer is indexed at Side Content and Endgame.
Named Magicite
One magicite item has a published name: the Magicite Shard, a consumable included in the pre-order pack. No names have been published for the three grades that awakening asks for, and nothing released through September 12, 2026 adds one, the English breakdown of the battle system and the materials for the free demo included.
Not Yet Detailed
As of September 12, 2026, Square Enix has not published how much magicite each awakening stage costs, what a stage adds in numbers, whether magicite can be bought, crafted or traded, whether an awakening can be undone to recover it, or whether the supply stretches far enough to awaken all 26 Visions. The roster it would be spent across is at List of Visions.
