11 The Nightlings are a family of shadow demons and the antagonists of the Nightling Update. They spill into Siagarta from the wicked world of Niflel through the Rifts, hoping to push back the humans who have only recently reclaimed the land. Small Nightling foes already roam the two launch regions, but the update turns them into a full invasion with its own commanders and bosses.

55 The Nightlings do not hold territory the way the world's other powers do. Instead they arrive in waves through the Rifts, streaming from multiple gates each time a portal opens. Left unchecked, they would reach Siagarta itself, so closing the gates before their leaders break through is the whole point of the world event.

1414 Several Nightlings are named individually. The Nightlords holding ground in Ramburg are Asmoderator, Diabloot, and Naamahs'tea. Soulstones summon a different set: each stone calls one named demon at its designated spot, four across Skover Island and four across the Valley of Eternal Autumn.
