Headquarters
October 16, 2026 at 10:05 PM
Initial version (2026-10-16)
The Headquarters is the hub of EVILBANE: the place you return to between operations to upgrade gear, change your loadout, and pick the next job. This page covers the Headquarters as it appeared in the first Steam playtest in October 2026, plus what the developer has said about the base's future. Expect names and functions to change before release.
Station | What It Does |
|---|---|
Rodrik | Upgrades weapons and engraves or replaces runes |
Lillian | Unlocks and swaps Heavenstones |
Display Stand (Presets) | Changes appearance and weapons, saving them to preset slots |
Round Table (Operation Select) | Select an operation or join one already in progress |
Help | Information you need while playing |
A few other functions live in the Headquarters too. Pressing ESC (the menu button on a controller) there lets you replay the tutorial, and pressing R (also the menu button on a controller) opens the playtest survey. Rodrik's weapon upgrades cost gold plus Heavenstone Powder, Fragments, or Essence, and rune engraving opens once a weapon reaches +3; the full rules are on the Progression page. Lillian handles the Heavenstone System, and if you forget to change Heavenstones before leaving, you can also swap them in the operation lobby with H (X on a controller).
The round table opens the operation list, where Q and E (LB and RB) switch between Easy, Normal, and Hard. From there you can start the operation you want, use Quick Play to join one that is already open, or enter a Private Operation code from a friend. See Missions and Co-Op and Multiplayer.
A developer note published during the playtest describes Base Camp, the last stronghold where the survivors have gathered, as the center of a planned war system. Its command room holds a massive War Map showing the state of the war across the Middle Realm, and the plan adds Base Camp briefings, a Hall of Records where past wars and top contributors are recorded, and Wandering Merchants who bring specialty goods from reclaimed regions. None of that was in the playtest, and the note does not say whether Base Camp is the same place as the playtest's Headquarters. See War Map.
