Revision 1

Marvelous Inc. is the Japanese company that develops Eternal Anima. The credit printed in the game's own staff block reads 企画・開発：マーベラス, which English publisher materials render as developed by Marvelous. The same company publishes the game in Japan. Everywhere else, publishing is handled by its regional arms, and that split is worth understanding before reading a store page, because the three publisher names that appear on some listings are not three separate companies.

Who Develops and Who Publishes

Development sits in one place. Publishing is divided by territory, and each territory assembles its own lineup of editions and platforms.

The developer line is identical on every surface that states one: Marvelous Inc. No internal studio, division or subsidiary within the company has been named as the specific team behind the game.

The XSEED Games Name

The PC storefront's publisher field lists three entries, XSEED Games, Marvelous USA and Marvelous Europe, and one console storefront renders the publisher as "Marvelous USA (XSEED)". The English press materials, meanwhile, credit publication in the Americas to Marvelous USA and never use the XSEED name at all.

These are not competing claims. XSEED Games is a label used by Marvelous USA, so a listing that names both is naming one operation twice. When this wiki needs a single English publisher name for the Americas it uses Marvelous USA, which is the form the publisher itself uses in prose, and treats the storefront strings as storefront metadata.

Why the Split Matters to Buyers

Because each arm builds its own product lineup, the game is not identical from region to region. Three differences are already documented as of 15 September 2026:

• Europe is offered a physical Xbox Series X|S edition. North America is not, and no Xbox digital listing exists anywhere yet.

• The Japanese Nintendo Switch 2 package is a Game-Key Card, while the North American Switch 2 package is described as carrying the game fully on cartridge.

• The Digital Deluxe Edition's contents are worded differently in Japan and Asia than in the West, and the Western wording is the narrower of the two.

The pricing ladders and edition contents are set out in Editions and Pricing, and the platform and physical-media differences in Release and Platforms.

Working Title

The publisher's own overview text states that the project was originally teased in 2023 under the working title PROJECT LIFE is RPG. A trace of that title survives in the European publisher site's file paths, which are still namespaced LIFE. The game's copyright line reads ©2026 Marvelous Inc., with one storefront in Hong Kong showing ©2027 instead; the 2026 form is the one used on the publisher's own pages.

The game is built in Unreal Engine. No first-party page says so in prose; the evidence is the English official site's own branding, which carries an Unreal Engine footer logo, while the Japanese site carries the corresponding Epic Games trademark notice. No engine version has been stated. The same footer also carries an Xbox Play Anywhere logo, which likewise appears in no prose anywhere and should be treated as a branding-level claim until a text source confirms it.

What Has Not Been Disclosed

As of 15 September 2026, six days after the reveal, the following are simply not public. None of these is a statement that the information does not exist, only that no first-party source has published it.

• Team size, headcount, or the name of the internal team within Marvelous.

• A development start date beyond the 2023 working-title tease, and any stated development duration.

• Budget, production scale, or any financial detail tied to this title.

• An engine version, although the engine itself is identified by the official site's footer branding as Unreal Engine.

• Any reception, sales or commercial record, because the game is unreleased.

The credited individuals, and the one recorded developer conversation about the game's design, are covered in Development Team.
