Pets, Mounts, and Collectibles
June 4, 2026 at 12:02 PM
Initial version covering collectibles: around 195 pets and how they are obtained, mounts including creatures with saddles and color variations and boss-drop exclusives, and the Databook and Bestiary collectible card systems with the Kasteron NPC set rewards. Uses hedged counts and no exact mount count.
Drakantos has a deep collection layer made up of pets, mounts, and collectible cards. Cosmetics like pets and mounts are shared across an account and can be hunted in the world or earned from tough fights, and the card systems reward exploration. Many of these collectibles are found through the Open World and Adventurer's Guild content, and the rarest come from the game's Bosses and Enemies.
Type | Count | How to Obtain |
|---|---|---|
Pets | Around 195 planned at launch. | Found in the wild by giving a pet a treat it likes; some are nurtured from their first steps. Card sets can also reward pets. |
Mounts | Many mounts, with saddles and color variations. | Found in the world; some monsters can become mounts. Each endgame boss drops a rare exclusive mount and pet. |
Databook and Bestiary cards | Two collectible card sets. | Cards are hidden across Adventures and the Open World. An NPC in Kasteron rewards completed sets. |
There are around 195 pets to collect, which is the planned launch roster. The number grew over development, from 50 pets in December 2023 to 150 in October 2024 before reaching the final planned figure, so the count is described here as the launch roster rather than a number locked into any one test build. Pets are obtained in the wild by giving a pet a treat it likes: get or cook the right treat, give it to the pet, and if the pet likes it, it becomes yours. Some special pets are nurtured from their very first steps. Once you have a pet, it can find hidden items while you walk, making companions useful as well as cosmetic.
Many mounts exist, made up of various creatures along with their saddles and color variations, so a single mount type can appear in several looks. Some monsters can become mounts, with creatures such as a Yeti or a Tiger crossing over from enemy to ridable mount. The rarest mounts come from endgame fights: each endgame boss drops a rare exclusive mount and pet, which makes those bosses a target for collectors as well as for loot. An exact total number of mounts has not been confirmed.
The Databook and the Bestiary are both collectible card systems. Rather than unlocking entries automatically, each entry is a card hidden across Adventures and the Open World, so you find and collect them through exploration. An NPC in Kasteron rewards you for completing sets of cards, handing out titles, pets, and player displays, with higher-value rewards along the way that can even include some weapons. The two systems track different things: the Bestiary records the monsters you have defeated, while the Databook holds location and NPC lore. For the city where the rewards NPC is found, see Cities and Locations; for how pets and mounts fit into trading and community play, see Social Systems.
