Hound13 is the South Korean studio behind DragonSword: Awakening. Founded in 2014 by Dragon Nest veterans and led by CEO Park Jung-sik, the studio's prior work includes the mobile action RPG Hundred Soul.
The Webzen publishing dispute is the contractual breakdown that pivoted DragonSword from a Korean free-to-play live-service launch into the Steam-published, buy-to-play DragonSword: Awakening. Hound13 terminated the contract in February 2026; Webzen filed an injunction in April 2026.
