Mirto is the brother of Coen and one of the four children of Pieter and Esme. With Coen the eldest, Yanna second, and Lunka the youngest, Mirto is the third of the four. The family lives in the hills of Laslea.
Character
Mirto was once a quiet child. He has grown increasingly restless as his parents became emotionally absent, a change the developers tie directly to the state of the household rather than to anything he has done. Esme's health has collapsed since Brencis took the valley, and Pieter was already distant, so the two people who would normally steady a boy his age have both withdrawn.
Yanna believes the restlessness is only a phase, though the developers note she may simply be trying to reassure herself when tensions rise. Nothing has been published about what form Mirto's restlessness takes, whether it puts him at risk, or whether it becomes a thread in the story.
The Family
Mirto is one of the two younger children Yanna looks after whenever Coen and Pieter are away.
Family Member | Relation | Note |
|---|---|---|
Father | A former mercenary; strict and emotionally distant, but protective. | |
Mother | Puts the family first at the cost of her own health, which has declined badly. | |
Eldest child | The player character, and a Dawnwalker after his failed transformation. | |
Second oldest | Cares for the younger children whenever Coen and Pieter are away. | |
Mirto | Third child | Once quiet, now increasingly restless. |
Youngest child | Bright and perceptive, and the most sheltered of the four. |
Role in the Story
Mirto is taken with the rest of the household when the vrakhiri capture Coen's family, which is what starts the 30-Day Cycle and gives the player 30 days and 30 nights to reach them. The family is held at Brencis's castle to be sacrificed at the ceremony marking his investiture as Prince.
Coverage of the shipped game treats the captives as a group rather than as separate rescues. In the documented routes into the castle, the family is found together in the depths and freed together, and if the thirty days run out before Coen reaches them none of them survives it, which is reported as the same outcome for every sibling. That does not settle whether Mirto can be singled out at any point, only that no published account describes it happening.
In the Game
Mirto is on screen in the prologue. In the optional quest Live Bait, Coen walks Yanna, Mirto and Lunka down to the river to fish, and the conversation there gives him the choice to argue with Mirto or to level with him. The choice changes how the siblings talk to each other rather than anything mechanical.
His name comes back later as a cover story. In The Firebrand, soldiers who ambush Coen at a farm at night demand to know who he is, and answering that he is Mirto talks him out of the fight.
One optional quest built around a repeating nightmare also puts Coen through a version of the family morning in which he rescues his mother and his siblings, so the siblings appear there as a group. Mirto's age and voice actor are not named in first-party material published through September 23, 2026.
