Added Fall Before Dusk walkthrough and decisions
Fall Before Dusk begins after Rise at Dawn and follows Crake's infiltration of Greifberg Castle. It uses the tunnels beneath the fortress and costs 1 time segment. The raid can be approached during day or night. Save before committing to the finale.
Stage | Route |
|---|---|
Tunnels | Fight the kobolds, or use the conversation available after Hive and Seek to persuade them to move. Continue to the scouts' ladder. |
Lower castle | Investigate the missing scouts. Catalin arrives with his troops; Coen and Crake search the prison instead of accompanying him upstairs. |
Dungeon guard | Fight Bakir if he remains alive. Otherwise the Watcher of the Greifberg Dungeons replaces him. |
Prison | Take the southern path through the cells, then defeat Beldam, Consort to the Mad Khan, and the accompanying soldiers. |
Courtyard | Use the western doorway, clear the defenders and optionally ask the manumits near the metal gate about the siege. |
Castle entrance | Fight Ambrus if he remains alive, or the Guard Captain if he was defeated earlier. |
Upper castle | Continue through the rune-framed room and Xanthe's trap unless it was disabled by sparing her. |
Throne room | Clear the remaining soldiers and confront Brencis with Catalin. |
When Brencis attacks Catalin, intervene with "No! Stop!" to save both Catalin and Crake. Staying silent or letting the timer expire kills Catalin. Crake's fate then depends on Rise at Dawn: if the soldiers were spared he survives, but if they were allowed to die he attempts to save Catalin and dies too.
This earlier decision makes silence a conditional outcome. It does not automatically kill Crake in every run. Catalin's survival also changes who rules the valley in the epilogue.
Follow Brencis after the throne-room scene. If Xanthe has already been confronted, the next obstacle is the Commander of the Bloodguard with soldiers. Otherwise Xanthe and her Blood Guards can appear. Reach the banquet hall and defeat Brencis's normal form, then his second phase in Anachora.
Defeating Brencis with Crake leads to The Knyazmaker. The epilogue reflects the survival decisions and other quests completed before the raid.
