Two-handed weapons are powerful armaments in Crimson Desert that require both hands to wield. While they prevent the use of an off-hand item like a shield, they compensate with higher damage output, wider attack arcs, and greater reach than one-handed weapons. Two-handed weapons are favored by warriors who prefer raw power and crowd control over defensive versatility.
There are 211 two-handed weapons currently known in Crimson Desert, spanning 9 distinct weapon types. Each type offers a unique combat style, from the long reach of spears to the devastating impact of greathammers.
Two-handed weapons in Crimson Desert are divided into the following subcategories:
Type | Count | Description |
|---|---|---|
20 | Versatile bladed weapons offering balanced reach, speed, and damage | |
6 | Massive blades built for raw power with devastating sweeping attacks | |
43 | Polearm weapons with exceptional reach, ideal for controlling space | |
13 | Hybrid polearms combining an axe blade with a spear tip for versatility | |

Two-handed weapons share several common traits that distinguish them from one-handed alternatives:
Higher Damage: Two-handed weapons deal significantly more damage per hit than their one-handed counterparts.
Wider Attack Arcs: Most two-handed swings cover a broader area, allowing players to hit multiple enemies with a single attack.
Greater Reach: Polearm-type weapons (spears, halberds, banner pikes) offer the longest melee reach in the game.
No Off-Hand: Wielding a two-handed weapon prevents the use of shields, secondary weapons, or off-hand items.
Slower Swing Speed: Two-handed weapons generally have slower attack animations and longer recovery frames between swings.
Stagger Potential: Heavy two-handed weapons (greathammers, warhammers, greataxes) have increased stagger damage, capable of breaking enemy guards and interrupting attacks.
Most two-handed weapons can be enhanced from +0 to +10 through the refining system. Each enhancement level increases the weapon's Attack stat. Higher enhancements require rarer materials, including Bloodstone, Scolecite Ore, and Abyss Artifacts. Banner pikes are an exception, as most cannot be enhanced beyond their base level.
Two-handed weapons come in five quality grades, each indicating rarity and power:
Grade | Description |
|---|---|
Mythic | The rarest and most powerful weapons. Often tied to major story events or legendary figures. Extremely difficult to obtain. |
Legendary | High-tier weapons with unique properties and lore. Obtained through challenging content, boss fights, or rare quest rewards. |
Epic | Strong mid-to-high tier weapons. Available through quests, merchants, and exploration throughout Pywel. |
Rare | Solid mid-game weapons. Accessible from merchants, crafting, or basic quest rewards. |
Uncommon | Basic weapons. Often the first two-handed weapons players encounter. Includes all banner pikes. |
