True Strength is the third and final trial quest in the Six Pensive Statues and the Evil Spirit sub-chapter of Chapter 9: The Sage of the Desert. It takes place at a remote mountain peak within the Serpent Marsh and tests Kliff's ability to find strength through understanding rather than brute force. The trial culminates in a boss encounter against Master Du, a senior monk who represents the pinnacle of martial and spiritual harmony.

Receive the final teaching from Master Du
Master Du fights with a balanced style that combines quick strikes with defensive techniques. Unlike T'rukan's aggressive patterns, Master Du frequently pauses to observe your behavior and adapts his strategy accordingly.
Master Du counters predictable attack patterns. Vary your combos and mix light and heavy attacks to avoid triggering his parry.
When Master Du enters his observation stance (arms folded, no movement), do not attack. He will counter any incoming hit with a devastating riposte. Wait for him to resume his normal stance.
Use Force Palm sparingly. Master Du can dodge Force Palm at close range, so use it only after he commits to a long combo.
Dodge-and-punish is the safest approach. Let Master Du finish his attack strings, then counterattack during his brief recovery window.
In his second phase (below 40% health), Master Du adds spirit-infused attacks that deal extra damage. Increase your dodge frequency and keep healing items ready.

Progression to Face the Inner Self
This fight rewards adaptability. Master Du is designed to punish players who rely on a single attack pattern.
Bring your best weapon with the highest damage output. Master Du has a large health pool and the fight can be lengthy.
