Applied Title Case to body headings
The Sturdy Gatherables Chest is a placeable storage container introduced in Patch 1.04.00 as the gathering-materials half of the new specialized storage system. It has 1,000 slots, is purchased from Furniture Shops, and exposes its contents directly to the crafting and refinement systems so that materials inside the chest do not need to be moved into the backpack before being used in a recipe.
Property | Value |

Direct crafting access | Yes - materials inside are usable from any nearby crafting station without manual transfer. |
Refinement access | Yes - materials inside count toward refinement requirements at a Blacksmith or Refiner. |
As the name implies, the chest is intended for gathered materials: ores, stones, hides, timber, fibers, herbs, insects, and similar crafting inputs. The categorization is enforced by the inventory tab system that Patch 1.04.00 introduced - any item that lands in the Materials tab is eligible for the Sturdy Gatherables Chest.
Ores and stones from mining nodes.
Timber and fine timber from logging.
Hides, sinew, and leather pieces from animals.
Plants, herbs, and alchemy reagents from foraging.
Insects and other small gathered fauna.
Before Patch 1.04.00 the only way to keep large stockpiles of crafting materials was to leave them in the general Private Storage or carry them in the backpack, both of which became unwieldy once the player had built up bulk stocks for camp upgrades and refinement. The Sturdy Gatherables Chest fixes that problem by combining a much larger capacity with a direct crafting tap.
Backpack relief. Pulling materials out of inventory frees a meaningful number of slots for combat consumables and quest items.
Faster crafting loops. Recipes pull from the chest automatically when crafted nearby; players no longer alt-tab between storage and the crafting bench to assemble a stack of arrows or a piece of refined gear.
Pairs with the other specialized chests. The Sturdy Gatherables Chest sits alongside the Kuku Cooler, Enhanced Kuku Cooler, Collectibles Chest, and Wardrobe so that the entire backpack can be split into purpose-built containers.
The chest is sold at Furniture Shops across Pywel for silver. After purchase it is placed through Housing and Farming mode like any other furniture item; once placed it occupies a single piece of floor space and is interacted with the same way as a Private Storage container.
Patch 1.04 also added a new mass-retrieval action that pulls every furniture item placed through Housing mode in a single action, including the Sturdy Gatherables Chest. The chest's contents are preserved across the retrieval and the move; only its placement on the lot is reset.
Kuku Cooler - food storage counterpart.
Enhanced Kuku Cooler - upgraded food storage.
Collectibles Chest - quest items and recipes.
Wardrobe - outfit storage container.
Crafting - main crafting system.
Patch 1.04.00 - patch that introduced specialized storage.
