Red River Hob is a legendary boar found near the Red River on the eastern side of the Demeniss region in Crimson Desert. It is one of the 24 legendary animals scattered across Pywel and falls into the herbivore category, meaning it does not appear as a red dot on your minimap. The Red River Hob is a small, orangey-red colored boar that blends in among regular piglets roaming the area. It is easy to miss if you are not actively scanning the herd.
Defeating the Red River Hob rewards the Chalice of Devouring, a decorative house item shaped like an oversized beer mug. Like all legendary herbivore drops, this is a cosmetic reward for the player house rather than a piece of combat equipment.

The Red River Hob spawns near the Red River in the Demeniss region, on the right side of the map. After using Leebur's Soul (obtained from defeating Black Fang), the Red River Hob's location is marked on the world map. The boar roams within a small area among a group of regular piglets.
Because the Red River Hob is classified as a herbivore, it does not register as a hostile red dot on your minimap. You need to visually scan the group of boars and look for the one with a distinct orangey-red coloring. It is noticeably smaller than typical legendary predators, so it can be hard to pick out at first glance.
The Red River Hob is one of the easiest legendary animals to defeat. It has a relatively small health pool compared to legendary predators like the White Lion or White Bear. The boar will attempt to charge and ram when provoked, but its attacks are straightforward and easy to dodge.
Fire damage is very effective against the Red River Hob, just as it is against all animals in Crimson Desert. A single fire-based attack will cause the boar to drop to the ground and roll, giving you several seconds of free damage. Skills like Flame Strike can trivialize this encounter. Even without fire, a few strong hits with an upgraded weapon should bring it down quickly.
Defeating the Red River Hob drops the Chalice of Devouring, a decorative item for the player house. The Chalice of Devouring is a large, ornate beer mug that can be placed in your home as a display piece. It does not provide any combat stats or gameplay bonuses. Herbivore legendary animals consistently drop cosmetic furniture items, and the Chalice of Devouring follows this pattern.
The item becomes available in your inventory after the kill and can be placed via the housing decoration interface at your camp or player house.
Use fire: Fire damage hard crowd-controls the boar, making the fight trivially easy.
Scan carefully: The Red River Hob is small and blends in with regular piglets. Look for the orangey-red coloring.
Save first: Save at a nearby campsite before approaching in case you accidentally lose track of it.
Combine with nearby hunts: The Demeniss region also contains the White Scaled Crocodile and White Tiger legendary animals, so plan a route that covers all three.
