Ranged Weapons of the World: Guns, Vol. II is the second volume in the gun-focused branch of the ranged weapons crafting manual series for Crimson Desert. While Vol. I covers basic firearms, this advanced manual unlocks higher-tier guns including shotguns and muskets with improved base Attack values. Guns provide a different tactical option from bows: they deal more damage per shot but reload more slowly and consume ammunition.
Location: Stolen in the Scholastone Institute.
This manual must be obtained through stealing. It is located inside the Scholastone Institute, a research facility that also features several Research Projects. Look for the book on a desk or shelf inside the Institute.
Equip a Mask before attempting to take it to avoid reputation penalties with the local faction. Once obtained, examine the book to permanently unlock the gun crafting recipes at every smithy.
After reading this manual, the following firearms become available for crafting:
Weapon | Type | Attack | Abyss Slots | Materials |
|---|---|---|---|---|
Delesyia Shotgun | Shotgun | 16 | 5 | Iron Ore x7, Copper Ore x2 |
Pailunese Musket | Musket | 14 | 5 | Iron Ore x7, Copper Ore x2 |
Competition Muskett | Musket | 14 | 5 | Iron Ore x7, Copper Ore x2 |
Wells Musket | Musket | 14 | 5 | Iron Ore x7, Copper Ore x2 |
The Delesyia Shotgun is the standout piece from this volume, offering the highest base Attack at 16. Shotguns deal heavy damage at close-to-mid range but have limited effective distance. Muskets trade raw damage for better accuracy at longer distances.
All guns require Bullets to fire, which can be crafted at any campfire or purchased from vendors. Bullets require Iron Ore x2 and Gunpowder x4 per batch. Keep a healthy stock of ammunition before heading into combat.
Guns pair well with a close-range melee setup. Open fights with a musket shot to deal initial damage, then switch to your primary one-handed weapon and shield for the rest of the engagement.
The Delesyia Shotgun's high base Attack makes it effective for finishing weakened enemies or dealing burst damage to staggered bosses.
Remember to craft or buy Bullets and Gunpowder before venturing into new areas. Running out of ammunition in the middle of a dungeon is a common frustration for new gun users.
