Create comprehensive Odeck's Protector Plate Set overview with all piece locations, detailed access instructions, and set overview
The Odeck's Protector Plate Set is a five-piece plate armor collection in Crimson Desert. Themed around a samurai general aesthetic, it is widely considered one of the most visually impressive armor sets in the game. Each piece was once worn by the Forgotten General who guarded Odeck, and the layered silver plates, deep crimson fabrics, and flowing red tassels give the full set a commanding battlefield presence.
All five pieces are hidden inside secret caves scattered across the world, most of which require the Focus Force Palm ability to break through sealed walls. The set can be collected relatively early, within the first five or six chapters of the main story, making it an excellent goal for players who want strong equipment with a distinctive look before reaching the late game.
Like other armor sets in Crimson Desert, the Odeck's Protector Plate pieces do not grant a set bonus when worn together. Each piece is refined and upgraded independently at a Blacksmith. However, the pieces come pre-equipped with solid Abyss Gear, adding meaningful combat benefits on top of their defensive stats.
The five pieces of the Odeck's Protector Plate Set are spread across different regions. Every piece is found inside a hidden cave or underground passage, and most require Focus Force Palm to access. The table below summarizes each piece, its location, and how to reach it.
Piece | Slot | Location | How to Obtain |
|---|---|---|---|
Headgear | Near Hexe Sanctuary | Hidden cave with a sealed wall; use Focus Force Palm to break through, then retrieve the Abyss Cell #0 and open the chest inside | |
Footwear | Below the Sanctum of Temperance | Enter the cave beneath the Sanctum, push through the vegetation at the end, and open the chest | |
Gloves | Perrin Quarry (near Witchwoods) | Locked cave entrance; use Focus Force Palm to break the sealed wall, then collect the gloves from inside | |
Body Armor | Four Pits of the Waveward Woods, northern Pailune | Look for a meteorite-like gap between the trees; use Focus Force Palm to break the wall, retrieve the Abyss Cell, and open the chest | |
Cloak | Underground passage beneath the outpost at Frost Wind Caves | Enter through a gap in the barricade; on the first level, keep left until you reach a collapsed ceiling; drop down to the second level and pick the cloak up from the ground (not inside a chest) |
The Odeck's Protector Plate Helm is found in a hidden cave on the eastern side of the map, close to the Hexe Sanctuary. When you arrive at the cave entrance, you will notice a sealed wall that can only be opened with Focus Force Palm. After breaking through, follow the passage inside to find an Abyss Cell embedded in the wall. Use Focus Strike to pull it free, then continue deeper to find the chest containing the helm. The helm features long red tassels flowing from a rounded crown, with an angular visor and layered plates that extend down to protect the neckline.
The Odeck's Protector Plate Boots are located below the Sanctum of Temperance. From the Sanctum, look for a cave entrance in the area directly beneath it. Enter the cave and follow the path through to the end, where you will encounter a wall of vegetation. Push past the vines and foliage to reach a hidden chamber with a treasure chest. The boots inside offer solid defensive stats along with a Movement Speed bonus, making them a strong footwear choice for builds that value both protection and mobility.
The Odeck's Protector Plate Gloves are hidden in a cave at Perrin Quarry, situated near the Witchwoods on the western side of the map. The cave entrance is blocked by a sealed rock face that requires Focus Force Palm to break open. Once inside, proceed to the end of the passage to collect the gloves. These plate gauntlets feature layered square plates that wrap around the forearms, and they provide both attack and defense stats.
The Odeck's Protector Plate Armor is located in the Four Pits of the Waveward Woods, in northern Pailune. Travel to the area and look for a distinctive gap between the trees that resembles a meteorite impact site. The opening leads to a breakable wall. Use Focus Force Palm to shatter it, retrieve the Abyss Cell from the rubble, and then enter the cave to find the chest piece. The armor features overlapping steel plates on the chest and waist, designed to absorb frontal impacts, with a thick rope belt holding the whole assembly secure.
The Odeck's Protector Plate Cloak is tucked away in an underground passage beneath the outpost at the Frost Wind Caves. To reach it, look for a gap in the barricade walls surrounding the area. Drop through the opening to enter the facility below. On the first level, keep to the left side and follow the path all the way to the back wall. You will find a collapsed ceiling that opens into a second, lower level. Drop down into the room below, and the cloak will be sitting on the ground directly in front of you. Unlike every other piece in the set, this one is not stored inside a chest. The cloak features layered silver pauldrons on the shoulders with a deep crimson fabric that trails behind the wearer.
Because all five pieces rely on Focus Force Palm to access their respective caves, make sure you have this ability unlocked before setting out on a collection run. The ability is tied to story progression, so it becomes available naturally as you advance through the early chapters.
Several of the hidden caves also contain numbered Abyss Cells embedded in their walls. These special cells are larger than standard ones and are used in specific crafting recipes at the Kiln Shop. Whenever you see a glowing wall formation after breaking through with Focus Force Palm, use Focus Strike to extract the cell before moving on.
The full set can be assembled within the first five or six chapters, so it serves as an excellent mid-game upgrade. Players who enjoy exploration will find the treasure hunt particularly rewarding, as the caves are spread across multiple regions and each requires a slightly different approach to access.
Every piece of the Odeck's Protector Plate Set carries an in-game description referencing the Forgotten General who guarded Odeck. The armor was sealed within deep valleys and hidden chambers, yet remains remarkably resistant to rust despite its age. The silver surfaces bear scratches from countless battles, and the crimson fabrics still hold their color, preserving the authority of the general who once wore them. Standing near the cloak, one can supposedly feel the weight of the age-old vow the general made to defend the region.
