Numont is one of the five standard horse breeds in Crimson Desert. According to its in-game Knowledge entry, the Numont is described as "a horse breed with a powerful build and a large, sturdy frame. Its exceptional lung capacity and excellent stamina make it especially valued on the battlefield. However, due to its high price, it is not issued to ordinary soldiers and is primarily assigned to commanders or senior officers."
Numont has the highest Attack stat (15 at Level 1) and the best Acceleration among standard breeds. Its unique skill, Flurry Slash (unlocked at Trust Level 3), allows the rider to execute a rapid slashing attack while dashing. All Numont horses have short or very short hair with basic patterns in brown or tan colorations.
While Numont excels in offensive capability, its Stamina of 150 is tied with Brianto for the lowest among standard breeds. This makes Numont better suited for combat engagements than long-distance travel.
Stat | Value |
|---|---|
Health | 400 |
Stamina | 150 |
Attack | 15 |
Evade | 45 |
Movement Speed | 1 |
Attack Speed | 2 |
Climb Speed Multiplier | 1 |
Swim Speed Multiplier | 2 |
Seats | 4 |
Numont's Attack stat of 15 is more than double the Herspia's 7 and the highest among all standard breeds. Its Attack Speed of 2 is also the best at base level. These combat-oriented stats reflect the breed's lore as a battlefield mount reserved for commanders.
Level | Health | Stamina | Attack | Evade | Move Speed | Atk Speed | Climb Speed | Swim Speed |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Lv. 1 | 400 | 150 | 15 | 45 | 1 | 2 | 1 | 2 |
Lv. 2 | 420 | 165 | 17 | 48 | 2 | 2 | 1 | 2 |
Lv. 3 | 440 | 180 | 20 | 51 | 2 | 3 | 2 | 3 |
Lv. 4 | 470 | 195 | 23 | 54 | 2 | 3 | 2 | 3 |
Lv. 5 | 520 | 225 | 26 | 57 | 3 | 4 | 3 | 3 |
At Level 5, Numont reaches an Attack Speed of 4, the highest among all standard breeds. Its Attack of 26 also leads all standard horses. Combined with the Flurry Slash skill, Numont is the strongest mounted combat horse in the standard tier.
Numont's signature skill is Flurry Slash, unlocked at Trust Level 3. This skill is unique to Numont among standard breeds and provides a combat-focused attack during dashes.
Level | Skill | Description |
|---|---|---|
Lv. 1 | Dash | Burst of forward speed for quick travel. |
Lv. 2 | Drift | Sharp turns while sprinting without losing momentum. |
Lv. 3 | Back Kick | The horse kicks backward, hitting enemies behind. |
Lv. 3 | Flurry Slash | Execute a rapid slashing attack while dashing. Press the heavy attack button while dashing. Unique to Numont among standard breeds. |
Lv. 3 | Sprint | Extended high-speed gallop consuming stamina. |
Lv. 4 | Swimming III | Improved swimming speed in water. |
Lv. 5 | Quick Start | Faster acceleration from a standstill. |
Lv. 5 | Double Jump | Perform a second jump in mid-air. |
Wild Numont horses can be found grazing in open fields and grasslands across Pywel. The river areas to the east and south of Hernand are particularly reliable spots where multiple horse herds graze near the water. Approach from behind and complete the taming minigame.
Stable vendors in major towns sell horses of various breeds, including the Numont. Check available stock, as breed selection rotates.
NPC riders and travelers sometimes ride Numont horses. You can dismount the rider and claim the horse, though this counts as stealing and attracts attention.

Horses gain Trust levels through three methods:
Feeding: The fastest method. Give your horse food items like hay, sugar beets, oats, or apples while mounted. Each feeding grants substantial Trust experience.
Caressing: Target your horse and press R to pet it. Free experience at no resource cost, but has a daily cap.
Riding: Passive experience from traveling on horseback. The slowest method but happens naturally during gameplay.
Numont benefits significantly from leveling because its Attack Speed scales from 2 to 4 between Level 1 and Level 5, the highest growth among standard breeds for that stat. Invest in the Abyss Tree's mount nodes for additional stat boosts that stack with equipment.
Numont supports five equipment slots shared across all horse breeds:
Slot | Effect |
|---|---|
Head armor that increases the horse's Defense stat. Essential for Numont's combat role. | |
Body armor providing additional protection and possible Health boost. | |
Affects stamina consumption. Critical for Numont's low base Stamina of 150. | |
Improves mounted combat control. Pairs well with Numont's combat-oriented stat profile. | |
Speed and movement bonuses to help compensate for Numont's average base speed. |
For a combat-focused Numont build, prioritize a champron for offensive synergy, a saddle for stamina sustain, and stirrups for improved mounted combat control. Horse equipment can be purchased from vendors, crafted through the crafting system, or obtained as quest rewards.
Numont is one of the four tamable breeds required for the Harmonious Hooves challenge (#7). Ride each of the four tamable breeds (Brianto, Priden, Elantrima, and Numont) for over 100 meters each.
Numont excels in mounted combat. Use Flurry Slash while dashing through groups of enemies for maximum damage.
Equip a champron (horse head armor) to further boost the Numont's combat capability. A champron is required for the Charge attack on legendary horses, and synergizes with Numont's offensive stats.
Numont's low Stamina (150) means Sprint sessions are shorter. Equip a saddle with stamina bonuses to compensate.
The breed's high Attack Speed (2 at base, 4 at max) makes it effective for hit-and-run tactics during mounted engagements.
Feed your horse regularly to level it up faster. Feeding is significantly quicker than passive riding experience. Caress daily for free bonus experience.
Numont is the best standard breed for players who prioritize mounted combat over exploration speed or vertical mobility.
Wild Numont horses tend to appear near rivers and in open grasslands east and south of Hernand.
Save before attempting to tame any wild horse. If the taming minigame fails, the horse may flee and you will need to find another one.
Invest in the Abyss Tree mount nodes for additional stat improvements that stack with equipment.
