Nature's Snare

Add Utility: Brimstone Farming section describing the Deadfire Mountain gas vent route

Nature's Snare is a combat utility skill in Crimson Desert, available to Kliff. It belongs to the Spirit (Green) branch of the skill tree. When activated during Focus mode, Kliff rotates his energy to form a barrier of wind that blocks incoming projectiles. The barrier absorbs arrows, spells, and other ranged attacks, providing reliable protection against ranged enemies while Kliff maintains his Focus stance.
Nature's Snare is one of the more advanced Spirit tree skills, requiring significant investment in prerequisite abilities before it becomes available. However, its defensive utility against projectile-heavy enemies makes it a worthwhile investment for players who frequently face archers, spellcasters, and other ranged threats. At higher levels, it evolves from a purely defensive tool into a versatile skill that can discharge stored energy offensively or render Kliff invisible.

Nature's Snare can only be activated while in Focus mode. Enter Focus first (L3 + R3 on PlayStation, LS + RS on Xbox, C + RMB on PC), then use the barrier input to raise the wind shield. The barrier stays active as long as you hold the input and have sufficient Spirit.
Nature's Snare has two upgrades that branch from it as you invest more Abyss Artifacts. These upgrades add offensive and stealth capabilities to the base defensive skill.
Skill | Effect | How to Unlock | |
|---|---|---|---|
While Nature's Snare is active, discharge all stored energy in a single concentrated shot. The damage scales with the amount of energy absorbed by the barrier, making it a powerful counter-attack after blocking multiple projectiles. | Raise Nature's Snare to Lv. 2 | R3 during Nature's Snare (PS5) / RS during Nature's Snare (Xbox) / Middle Mouse during Nature's Snare (PC) | |
While Nature's Snare is active, briefly become invisible. Enemies lose track of your position, allowing you to reposition or escape without being targeted. | Raise Nature's Snare to Lv. 3 | L3 during Nature's Snare (PS5) / LS during Nature's Snare (Xbox) |
The primary use of Nature's Snare is blocking incoming ranged attacks. Against archer groups, activate Focus and raise the barrier to absorb arrows while closing distance. Once you are in melee range, drop the barrier and transition to aggressive combat skills. In fights with mixed melee and ranged enemies, prioritize eliminating archers first by absorbing their attacks with Nature's Snare while advancing.
Nature's Retribution transforms Nature's Snare from a passive defense into an active counter-attack tool. Absorb as many projectiles as possible before discharging the stored energy in a focused shot. The more projectiles absorbed, the stronger the discharge. This makes it especially powerful against enemies that fire rapid volleys, since each absorbed hit increases the retribution damage.
Nature's Veil at Level 3 adds a brief invisibility effect, allowing you to break enemy targeting and reposition without being tracked. This is particularly useful during boss fights where you need to escape a dangerous position or during exploration encounters where stealth allows you to avoid combat entirely.
Outside of combat, Nature's Snare is the collection half of the fastest brimstone farming method in the game. At the gas-vent rocks between Deadfire Mountain and Hex Sanctuary north of Demeniss, use Healing Force Palm to seal every air vent on a rock except one, then enter Nature's Snare on the remaining vent. The rotating snare animation pulls the accumulated brimstone out in a single burst, giving the full yield of that rock in one action.
Equip the Brimstone Gas Mask first so the gas damage does not eat your health during the route. Brimstone is the main bottleneck for crafting Gold Bars, which makes this one of the most economically valuable uses of the skill.
Nature's Snare drains 2 Spirit per second while active. Pair it with Focus (which regenerates Spirit) to extend the barrier duration.
Do not forget to discharge the stored energy with Nature's Retribution. Letting the barrier drop without firing wastes the accumulated damage potential.
Nature's Snare requires Keen Senses Lv. 3 and Focus Lv. 2 as prerequisites. Plan your Spirit tree investment path to reach these milestones efficiently.
The wind barrier blocks projectiles from all directions, not just the front. You do not need to face the archer to absorb their arrows.
Nature's Snare is one of the best tools for fighting flying enemies that attack primarily with ranged attacks. Block their projectiles, discharge with Retribution, and repeat.
On PC, the barrier activation uses Right Mouse Button hold, which feels more natural than the gamepad thumbstick rotation. Experiment with both input methods to find what works best.
