The note contained a message instructing me to visit the Ruined Chapel in southern Hernand.
The Mysterious Arrow quest is gated behind progress in the Hernandian Parish of Solumen faction chain. Players need to clear the first four quests of the parish line, ending with the relic-return objective, before the trigger NPC will appear.
Once the 4th-of-6 parish quest is complete, travel to the Church of Hernand and look for a priest standing outside the church entrance. Approach him for the dialogue that begins with "Blessings upon you, child." He hands the player a note, and reading the note adds the Mysterious Arrow quest to the journal automatically. The note also unlocks the 5th-of-6 and 6th-of-6 parish quests on the faction tracker.
Step | Action | Location |
|---|---|---|
1 | Complete the first four Hernandian Parish of Solumen quests, ending with the missing-relic return | |
2 | Travel to the church and look for the priest waiting outside | |
3 | Speak to the priest and accept the note from him | Dialogue line: "Blessings upon you, child" |
4 | Read the note in the inventory to add Mysterious Arrow to the journal | Quest log triggers automatically |
If the priest is not at the church when you arrive, return to the faction quest board and confirm the missing-relic step is checked off. The priest only spawns once the parish chain has advanced past the 4th-of-6 quest.
Following the Mysterious Arrow note advances both the 5th-of-6 and 6th-of-6 parish quests in one continuous trail. Recover the arrow at the indicated location south of Hernand Highlands, then follow the note's directions southeast to the Bloodied Sanctum. Defeating the boss inside the sanctum closes both quests at once and drops the Goldbranch Plate Crown, an Epic headgear piece with the Storm Fang abyss gear embedded in it.
Storm Fang sends out lightning bolts that chain between enemies when triggered by lightning-imbued attacks, making the Mysterious Arrow chain the canonical in-game route for any player building a Lightning Element loadout. After looting the crown, take it to any of the Witch's Workshops to extract Storm Fang and re-embed it into preferred armor.
Reward | Type | Notes |
|---|---|---|
Epic Headgear | Crown-shaped helm with Storm Fang embedded | |
Lightning Abyss Gear | Chains lightning bolts between enemies on lightning-imbued attacks |
Storm Fang: the abyss gear earned at the end of the Mysterious Arrow chain
Goldbranch Plate Crown: the helm that carries Storm Fang
Hernandian Parish of Solumen: the parent faction questline that unlocks Mysterious Arrow
Church of Hernand: the priest's location and the unlock point
Bloodied Sanctum: the final boss arena for the 5-of-6 and 6-of-6 quests
Lightning Element: the element the Storm Fang reward feeds into
Check the faction quest board regularly, as available quests rotate over time.
Completing faction quests increases your reputation with the local faction, unlocking access to better vendors and rewards.
Mysterious Arrow is the opening step of the Hernandian Parish of Solomon questline. The quest tasks the player with investigating a cryptic note that points toward the Ruined Chapel in southern Hernand. The arrow and note only appear after House Celeste has progressed far enough to open the Legendary Animals and Legendary Hunter chains, which is the true unlock requirement for the parish questline.
Following the note's instructions leads directly into the next stage, Bloodied Sanctum, where Sysleck the Insatiable is fought inside the ruined chapel. Completing the sanctum quest rewards the Shadow Gloves, the Goldbranch Plate Crown, and the Greedy Lightningblade. Treat Mysterious Arrow as the first half of a two-quest reward run and be ready for a boss fight at the end.
