Mud Ridge Cabin

Mud Ridge Cabin is a hidden location situated southeast of the player's camp in the Hernand region of Crimson Desert. This unassuming cluster of wooden cabins holds two noteworthy items that are easy to miss if you do not explore the area carefully. The first is a sliding puzzle strongbox containing the Flower Petal Earring, and the second is a chest hidden beneath one of the cabins that holds the Goblin King's Treasure Dagger. Both items offer useful stats for early and mid-game builds, making this a worthwhile stop during exploration.

Location

Mud Ridge Cabin is positioned southeast of your Greymane Camp. The cabin complex is nestled among dense foliage and elevated terrain, making it easy to overlook when traveling through the area. Watch for a cluster of small wooden structures built on raised posts. The cabins are partially obscured by the surrounding vegetation, so approach from the southeast side of camp and scan the landscape carefully.

Strongbox Sliding Puzzle

Inside one of the cabins at Mud Ridge, you will find a strongbox locked behind a sliding puzzle. The puzzle requires you to rearrange tile fragments to complete a picture. Once you successfully reconstruct the image, the strongbox opens and you can claim the reward inside.

Sliding puzzles in Crimson Desert follow a standard tile-shifting format. One space in the grid is empty, and you slide adjacent tiles into the empty position to gradually move all pieces into their correct spots. Focus on solving the puzzle from the edges inward, starting with corners and border tiles before working on the center.

Reward: Flower Petal Earring

Completing the strongbox puzzle rewards the Flower Petal Earring, an accessory crafted from a preserved flower petal. Beyond its defensive stats, this earring has a unique ability called Music Box. You can activate Music Box by pressing LT + RT (left trigger and right trigger), which causes your character to play a melody. While primarily a cosmetic effect, the earring itself provides a solid defensive boost for an accessory slot during the early to mid-game.

Hidden Chest Underneath the Cabin

The second item at Mud Ridge Cabin is hidden just out of sight underneath one of the structures. To reach it, look for a series of wooden boards extending from beneath the cabin. Work your way carefully across these boards until you reach a chest tucked away in the crawlspace below. Inside you will find the Goblin King's Treasure Dagger.

The Goblin King's Treasure Dagger is a dagger with solid offensive stats and a valuable passive ability for players who engage in hunting. Its 10% chance to skin an additional hide from animals makes it particularly useful for farming animal materials, which are needed for various crafting recipes and trade goods.

Tips

• Explore underneath the cabins. The Goblin King's Treasure Dagger chest is not visible from the main level. You need to actively look beneath the structures and navigate the wooden boards to reach it.

• Equip a mask before opening the strongbox. Strongbox items count as stolen goods. You must wear a mask to claim the Flower Petal Earring, or you will solve the puzzle but leave empty-handed.

• Keep the dagger for hunting. Even if you prefer other weapons for combat, the Goblin King's Treasure Dagger's passive ability makes it worth swapping to when skinning animals for extra hides.

• Visit early. Both items are available without any quest prerequisites. You can visit Mud Ridge Cabin as soon as you have access to the southeast areas of Hernand.
