Overview

The Grey Wolf's Sword is a one-handed weapon in Crimson Desert associated with the Greymanes mercenary band. With an Attack Power of 16 and a Critical Rate bonus at Level 1, it is a strong mid-tier sword that rewards players who land well-timed strikes. The Critical Rate bonus means a portion of hits will deal increased damage, giving the Grey Wolf's Sword a higher effective damage output than its raw Attack number suggests.

The sword is sold by Tranan, the quartermaster at Greymane Camp, for 11.33 Silver Coins. It arrives at Refinement Level 3 when purchased, already fitted with an Abyss gear slot that provides a +4.0% damage bonus against Abyssal creatures. This makes it combat-ready out of the box, requiring less immediate investment at the Blacksmith compared to weapons bought at base refinement.

Note: The default Abyss Core bonus of +4.0% damage to Abyssal Creatures is pre-installed when the sword is purchased. The remaining core slots can be filled with additional cores of the player's choosing.

How to Obtain

The Grey Wolf's Sword is purchased from Tranan, the quartermaster at Greymane Camp in Howling Hill. Tranan functions as the camp's equipment shop, selling weapons, armor, ammunition, and refinement materials. The sword costs 11.33 Silver Coins, making it one of the more expensive one-handed weapons available from merchants.

The sword does not appear in Tranan's inventory from the start. Several conditions must be met before it becomes available for purchase:

• Main story progress: Reach at least Chapter 8 of the main questline.

• Camp level: Upgrade Greymane Camp to at least Level 3 (possibly Level 4) through donations and camp expansion.

• Tranan's request quest: Complete the personal request quest given by Tranan. Fulfilling this quest unlocks additional stock in his shop, including the Grey Wolf's Sword.

Because these requirements overlap with late-game progression, most players will not gain access to the sword until they have spent a significant number of hours with the main story and camp management systems.

Part of the Grey Wolf Set

The Grey Wolf's Sword is one piece of the full Grey Wolf set, the iconic outfit featured on the game's box art and promotional materials. The complete set transforms Kliff into the armored warrior depicted in Crimson Desert's key artwork. The full Grey Wolf set consists of six pieces:

Each piece is obtained differently. The Grey Wolf Wooden Shield is available from the very start of the game. The cloak and boots can be acquired from Lola, the tailor in Pailune, after reaching Chapter 7. The chest piece becomes available after raising trust with Lola high enough. The gloves remain the hardest piece to track down, and the community is still confirming the exact source.

Refinement and Upgrades

Unlike most weapons that start at Refinement Level 0, the Grey Wolf's Sword comes pre-refined to Level 3 when purchased from Tranan. This gives it a head start in terms of raw power. The weapon supports up to 10 refinement levels total at a Blacksmith. Each refinement level increases the weapon's base Attack Power while preserving its Critical Rate bonus.

The 3 Abyss Core slots allow further customization. One slot comes pre-filled with a core granting +4.0% damage to Abyssal creatures. Since the sword already has a Critical Rate bonus, players can either double down on critical damage with matching cores or diversify by adding Attack Speed or elemental effects to the remaining slots. Players looking to push the weapon to its maximum potential should also consider applying Master Trainer's Touch to boost refinement success rates at higher levels, where failure becomes more common.

Combat Tips

The Critical Rate Level 1 bonus on the Grey Wolf's Sword makes it a natural fit for builds that capitalize on critical hits.
