The Golden Vanguard is a unique two-handed weapon in Crimson Desertdescribed as "the destructive weapon of choice of Gregor, the Halberd of Carnage." This halberd is obtained as a reward for defeating Gregor during the main story quest Where the Wind Guides You. With 23 attack power and a Level 2 Critical Rate bonus, it ranks among the stronger two-handed weapons available in the mid-to-late game.

Gregor wields the Golden Vanguard himself during the boss encounter at Fort Ironclad in the Hernand region. Players who have faced him know firsthand how punishing this halberd can be. Once acquired, the weapon brings that same reach and striking power to the player's arsenal, along with four pre-equipped Abyss Cores that provide a mix of offensive and utility bonuses.

The Golden Vanguard drops from Gregor, the Halberd of Carnagea main story boss encountered during Act 8 of Crimson Desert. The fight takes place at Fort Ironclad in the Hernand region as part of the Where the Wind Guides You quest, after finding Woosa. Defeating Gregor awards the Golden Vanguard along with 1 Abyss Artifact.
This weapon cannot be purchased from merchants or crafted. It is a one-time boss reward from the main story.
The Golden Vanguard can be refined at any Blacksmith up to 10 levels. Each tier boosts the base 23 attack value further. Materials come from mining nodes and world drops. Given the weapon's already high base damage, refinement pushes it into endgame-viable territory.
The "Recover Resources on Kill" Abyss Core is particularly useful during extended exploration sessions where you fight groups of enemies without resting. Each kill returns a small amount of resources, reducing downtime between encounters.
Halberds have excellent reach. Use the Golden Vanguard's range to hit enemies before they can close the gap, then follow up with charged attacks to knock them back.
The Level 2 Critical Rate pairs well with additional crit Abyss Cores in the remaining slots. A full crit build with the Golden Vanguard can deal devastating burst damage.
Against shielded enemies, the halberd's overhead strikes can bypass some guard angles. Aim for downward slashes rather than horizontal sweeps when fighting guards with raised shields.
