Overview

The Engraved Gold Earring is an Earring accessory in Crimson Desert. It provides +1 Defense alongside a Movement Speed Lv.1 buff, making it one of the few accessories in the game that grants a secondary utility effect beyond raw stat increases. The movement speed bonus helps Kliff close gaps against enemies, dodge attacks with better positioning, and traverse the open world of Pywel more quickly.

As the highest-tier engraved earring, the Gold variant is strictly superior to the Engraved Silver Earring and the Engraved Copper Earring. It combines the Silver earring's +1 Defense with an additional movement speed perk that no other earring in the engraved line offers.

Stats

The Movement Speed Lv.1 effect is passive and active at all times while the earring is equipped. This makes the Gold earring a strong pick for players who prioritize mobility during Combat encounters, particularly against bosses with large area-of-effect attacks where repositioning quickly is critical.

Gold is the highest material tier among the engraved earrings, and while the flavor text is shared across all three variants, the gold version carries an actual gameplay advantage in the form of its movement speed buff. The faint radiance described in the text may be a lore nod to the magical properties that produce this speed bonus.

How to Obtain

The exact acquisition method for the Engraved Gold Earring has not been fully confirmed. Based on its position as a higher-tier accessory, it is likely found through one or more of these methods:

• Strongbox puzzles in mid-to-late game areas

• Loot drops from stronger enemies or Bosses in later chapters

• Equipment vendors in higher-level settlements beyond Hernand

• Rewards from Request Quests or Faction Quests in later regions

The sell price of 4.26 Silver confirms it is a moderately valuable accessory. Players who find duplicates can sell extras or, more efficiently, use them as refinement material.

Refinement

The Engraved Gold Earring supports up to 10 refinement levels at any Blacksmith. Refinement increases the earring's Defense stat and potentially enhances the Movement Speed effect at higher levels. Required materials are Hides and Bones from Hunting wildlife, or duplicate copies of the earring itself since it is non-unique.

Levels 1 through 4 use only raw materials. From level 5 onward, Abyss Artifacts are also required. The Gold earring is one of the better candidates for Abyss Artifact investment among accessories because its Movement Speed perk scales its value above purely stat-based alternatives. Fully refining this earring is worthwhile for players who plan to keep it equipped through the late game.

Comparison with Other Earrings

Choosing between the Gold earring and the Oath of Darkness comes down to playstyle. The Oath of Darkness offers double the Defense (+2 vs +1), but the Gold earring's Movement Speed Lv.1 buff provides tactical flexibility. Players who rely on dodging and positioning may prefer the Gold earring, while those building a tanky, high-Defense loadout should lean toward the Oath of Darkness. Equipping one of each covers both bases.
