Crimson Desert launched on March 19, 2026, with three purchasable editions: Standard, Deluxe, and Collector's. Each edition includes the full base game. The Deluxe and Collector's tiers add escalating sets of in-game bonus items and, for physical copies, exclusive collectible merchandise.
The game is a one-time purchase with no microtransactions, no battle pass, and no in-game store. All gameplay content is included in the base price regardless of which edition a player buys. The bonus items in higher-tier editions are cosmetic gear and early-game equipment that do not gate off any game content.
All three editions of Crimson Desert are available across the following platforms:
Platform | Storefront |
|---|---|
PlayStation 5 | PlayStation Store (digital), retail (physical) |
Xbox Series X|S | Xbox Store, Microsoft Store (digital), retail (physical) |
PC | Steam, Epic Games Store |
macOS | Mac App Store |
GeForce NOW | Cloud streaming (requires PC purchase via Steam or Epic) |
Physical editions are available for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S at retail. PC and Mac editions are digital-only. GeForce NOW users stream the game from the cloud and must own a copy on Steam or Epic Games Store. For detailed hardware specifications, see the System Requirements page.
The Standard Edition is priced at $69.99 USD and includes the complete game with no additional bonus items beyond pre-order incentives. This is the base-level offering and provides access to the full story, all three playable characters, the entire open world, and every gameplay system.
Included | Details |
|---|---|
Base Game | Full Crimson Desert experience across all chapters and regions |
Pre-Order Bonus | Khaled Shield (in-game shield, pre-orders only) |
PS5 Exclusive Bonus | Grotevant Plate Set (armor set, PlayStation pre-orders only) |
The Standard Edition is the right choice for players who want the core experience without cosmetic extras. There are no gameplay features or story content locked behind the higher editions.
The Deluxe Edition is priced at $79.99 USD for the digital version and $89.99 USD for the physical version. It includes everything in the Standard Edition plus a collection of in-game bonus gear and, for physical copies, a set of tangible collectibles.
Item | Type | Description |
|---|---|---|
Kairos Plate Set | A set of ornate plate armor with a unique visual design not found elsewhere in the game | |
Shield | A decorated shield that pairs with the Kairos Plate Set | |
Exclaire Horse Tack Set | Mount equipment | A premium saddle, bridle, and barding set for the player's horse |
These items are usable from the start of the game. They provide stats comparable to early-game equipment, making them useful in the opening chapters but replaceable as the player finds or crafts stronger gear through normal progression.
Physical copies of the Deluxe Edition include additional tangible items packaged in the box:
Item | Description |
|---|---|
Limited SteelBook Case | Metal case with artwork featuring Kliff and the Greymane mercenaries |
Developer Letter | A printed letter from the Pearl Abyss development team |
Character Photo Cards | A set of cards depicting the main cast of characters |
Greymane Brooch Pin | A metal pin modeled after the Greymane mercenary emblem |
Embroidered Patches | Fabric patches featuring faction symbols from the game |
A printed map of the continent of Pywel |
The Collector's Edition is priced at $279.99 USD and includes everything in the Deluxe Edition, plus the exclusive Ultimate Pack of in-game items and premium physical collectibles. This edition is available in limited quantities through select retailers and the official Pearl Abyss store.
The Ultimate Pack is exclusive to the Collector's Edition and cannot be purchased separately. It contains a set of weapons, an item, and mount equipment that are unique to this edition.
Item | Type | Description |
|---|---|---|
Weapon | A longbow with a dark, spectral aesthetic and unique draw animation | |
Weapon | A polearm with an etched blade, effective for mounted combat | |
Weapon | A one-handed sword with ornamental detailing and a faint glow effect | |
Item | A lantern that emits a dim purple light, usable as an off-hand utility item | |
Hyperion Horse Tack Set | Mount equipment | An elite-tier saddle, bridle, and barding set with distinct gold-and-black coloring |
Like the Deluxe items, the Ultimate Pack gear is available from the start and comparable to early-game equipment in terms of stats. The items are visually distinctive but do not provide a lasting gameplay advantage.
In addition to all the physical items from the Deluxe Edition, the Collector's Edition includes two premium collectibles:
Item | Description |
|---|---|
17-inch Kliff vs. Golden Star Diorama | A detailed polyresin diorama depicting Kliff in combat against the Golden Star boss. Stands approximately 17 inches tall. |
Fabric World Map | A large cloth map of Pywel with hand-drawn styling, replacing the standard printed map from the Deluxe Edition. |
The table below summarizes what each edition includes at a glance:

Players who pre-ordered any edition of Crimson Desert before the March 19 launch date received the Khaled Shield as a bonus item. This shield features a unique heraldic design and is usable from the beginning of the game. It provides stats on par with other early-game shields and does not offer a competitive advantage over loot found during normal play.
PlayStation 5 pre-orders received an additional platform-exclusive bonus: the Grotevant Plate Set, an armor set styled after the old Grotevant knightly order. This item was not available on any other platform.
Both pre-order items are redeemed through the in-game Add-ons menu (Menu, then Other, then Options, then Add-ons). They appear in the Receivable Items list after the game detects the pre-order entitlement on the player's account.
Standard Edition owners who want the Deluxe in-game content can purchase the Deluxe Pack separately after launch. This pack includes the Kairos Plate Set, Balgran Shield, and Exclaire Horse Tack Set at a price equivalent to the edition difference.
The Ultimate Pack from the Collector's Edition is not sold separately. There is no upgrade path from Standard or Deluxe to the Collector's tier. Players who want the Ultimate Pack items must have purchased the Collector's Edition directly.
Crimson Desert uses a traditional premium pricing model with no recurring monetization. There are no microtransactions, loot boxes, premium currencies, or seasonal passes. Every piece of gameplay content is accessible through the base purchase. Pearl Abyss has explicitly confirmed this approach on multiple occasions, distinguishing Crimson Desert from their previous online title, Black Desert Online, which uses a free-to-play model with extensive monetization.
Regarding future content, Pearl Abyss has stated that free updates will come first. The studio has discussed the possibility of paid DLC or expansion packs at a later date, but only if the game's commercial performance supports it. No paid post-launch content has been announced or given a timeline. The studio's focus during the launch window has been on free patches and quality-of-life updates.
The edition structure received a generally positive reception. Reviewers and players noted that limiting bonus items to cosmetic and early-game gear, rather than locking gameplay systems or story content behind higher tiers, was a consumer-friendly approach. The $69.99 Standard Edition price point matched the industry standard for new-generation titles.
The Collector's Edition diorama was highlighted as a standout physical item in several retail and unboxing reviews. The lack of microtransactions was frequently praised in critical reception coverage, with many outlets contrasting it favorably against other major releases with extensive post-purchase monetization.
