The Bonepit Greataxe is a two-handed weapon in Crimson Desert. Its in-game description calls it "a massive weapon that offers an increased bonus to Critical Rate." True to its name, this greataxe originates from the Bonepit region, an area known for harsh terrain and dangerous wildlife. At 20 attack power with a Level 2 Critical Rate bonus, the Bonepit Greataxe hits noticeably harder than entry-level two-handed options while also giving a meaningful boost to critical strikes.

Two-handed weapons in Crimson Desert swing slower than their one-handed counterparts but compensate with higher damage per hit and wider attack arcs. The Bonepit Greataxe follows this pattern. Its sweeping horizontal slashes can catch multiple enemies at once, and the built-in critical rate bonus means those hits occasionally land for substantially more damage than the base number suggests.

The Bonepit Greataxe can be found on a weapon rack inside the Demessian Prison. It sits alongside other weapons such as the Glenmore Sword. Check the weapon rack carefully when exploring the prison interior, as the greataxe is easy to walk past if you are not looking for it.
This weapon cannot be purchased from merchants or crafted at a blacksmith. It is a one-time pickup from the Demessian Prison location.
The Bonepit Greataxe supports 10 levels of refinement at any Blacksmith. Each tier increases the base attack value, and the cost scales with each upgrade. Materials for refinement come from mining nodes and enemy drops found across Pywel. Because the greataxe already starts at a solid 20 attack power, each refinement level adds meaningful damage on top of a strong foundation.
The Level 2 Critical Rate bonus stacks with Abyss Core effects that boost critical chance. Filling slots with additional crit cores turns the Bonepit Greataxe into a crit-focused powerhouse.
Greataxe horizontal swings are effective for crowd control. Position yourself so your swing arc catches two or three enemies at once rather than singling out one target.
Against bosses with quick recovery windows, wait for their combo finishers before committing to a full swing. The slow attack speed leaves you exposed if you miss the opening.
Pair the Bonepit Greataxe with fire or poison elemental enhancements to apply status effects across multiple targets per swing.
