The Black Bear is a temporary ground mount in Crimson Desert. It is one of the strongest bear variants available, featuring 1,500 HP and high attack power. Like all wild bear mounts, the Black Bear cannot be registered at a stable or summoned on demand. Players must subdue it in combat before mounting, and dismounting causes the bear to immediately turn hostile again.
Black Bears are larger and more aggressive than standard brown bears, making the taming process more dangerous but yielding a more powerful ride. Their high health pool and strong offensive stats make them excellent combat platforms for clearing enemy camps or tackling tougher encounters in the open world.

Black Bears have the highest base HP among standard bear mounts, tied with the Grizzly Bear. Their attack stat of 180 makes them hit significantly harder than the Captured Bear variant.
Black Bears are obtained the same way as other wild bear mounts: by attacking the bear until it becomes exhausted and collapses.
Locate a wild Black Bear in forested areas, mountain slopes, or cave entrances across Pywel.
Attack the bear with melee or ranged weapons. Be prepared for a tough fight, as the Black Bear has 1,500 HP and deals heavy damage.
Continue dealing damage until the bear collapses and stops moving. A prompt to ride will appear on screen.
Approach the downed bear quickly and press the ride button to mount it before it recovers.
The window to mount is brief. If you wait too long, the bear will stand back up and resume attacking.

While riding a Black Bear, players gain access to the bear's powerful moveset:
Claw swipe attacks that deal heavy frontal damage in a wide arc.
Body slam ability that staggers and damages enemies in a small area around the bear.
The bear's 1,500 HP pool allows it to absorb substantial punishment before Kliff is forced off.
Kliff can use his equipped weapons while mounted, combining rider attacks with the bear's own moveset for devastating damage output.
The Black Bear shares the same stats as the Grizzly Bear, both featuring 1,500 HP, 180 attack, and 180 stamina. They are the strongest bear variants in the game. By comparison, the standard Bear and Captured Bear have only 1,000 HP and 120 attack, making them noticeably weaker in prolonged fights. The Clawed Bear also sits at 1,500 HP with identical stats to the Black Bear.
Carry plenty of healing items before engaging a Black Bear. The fight to exhaust it can drain a significant amount of health due to its 180 attack stat.
Once mounted, ride the bear directly into enemy camps or world boss encounters for massive damage output.
If you dismount accidentally, sprint away immediately to avoid the bear's counterattack.
Black Bears are functionally identical to Grizzly Bears in stats. Choose whichever variant is closest to your current location.
