October 31, 2026 at 04:57 AM
Initial version (2026-10-31)
A Wider World is the ocean-centered quest added to Crimson Desert by the Charting the Unknown expansion on October 29, 2026. It is a faction quest listed in the top row of the Journal, and it starts in Pailune. The quest opens up Ships, ocean travel and the uncharted islands.
Complete the main-story quest "Howling Hill".
Expand the Greymane Camp above a certain level; the required level was not published as of October 31, 2026.
Own the expansion.
Player guides place the ship unlock after progressing the Greymane questlines Scattered Embers and Grounds of the Sunrise, through Luke's Request and the "Expanding the Camp" steps under "Gathered Will".
Greymane faction quests cannot be progressed while playing as Damiane or Oongka, a known issue still listed on October 30, 2026, so play as Kliff when advancing the camp steps.
Step | Quest | Details |
|---|---|---|
1 | A Call from Beyond the Horizon | Shipbuilding dispatch mission |
2 | Where the Wind Blows | Teaches ship handling |
The ship-handling step shares its name with an unrelated base-game faction quest in Hernand, Where the Wind Blows, in which a windmill is built at Lacus Farm.
"Footsteps in Unfamiliar Lands" is another quest in the ocean chain; the 2.04.00 hotfix on October 30, 2026 improved it so the mission can be started from its starting location. The full order of the later steps was not published as of October 31, 2026.
A ship: build one through the shipbuilding dispatch or buy one from a fleetmaster.
Maritime trading with new trade goods.
Pioneering missions on uncharted islands, starting for most players with Auronui.
