Relics

Corrected the named Relic count and retained published effects
Relics are equippable items that grant Rose combat and exploration bonuses. They are passive: a Relic changes how she plays without occupying an attack button. Konami's Japanese material calls them 魔導器.
Rose can equip up to three at once, and the loadout is meant to be tailored to how a player wants to approach a stretch of the game rather than left alone. That three-slot limit is the whole of the published constraint; there is no listed rarity system, no upgrade currency, and no set bonus.
Relics are usually rewards for optional challenges rather than critical-path pickups. The two documented shapes are a difficult platforming section and a long combat encounter, both of which sit off the main route. That makes them one of the concrete payoffs for exploring, alongside the secrets and optional zones scattered through Paris.
Relics can also be improved. Weapons, Relics and Arcana all have upgrade paths, which is covered on Progression and Upgrades.
Relic | Effect | Source |
|---|---|---|
Crypt Key | Fully restores health and mana whenever Rose opens a chest. | Found in the game. |
Family's Grace | Not published. Konami lists it as a Relic rather than a cosmetic. | Included with the Midnight Edition. Japanese name 家族の肖像, literally "family portrait". |
Twilight Gem | Raises Rose's damage by thirty per cent for three seconds after she casts a spell. | Found in the game. |
Family's Grace is a gameplay item, not appreciation material, which matters when reading edition comparisons. Full Midnight Edition contents are on Editions and Pre-Order Bonuses.
Twilight Gem is the first Relic with a published numeric effect, and its shape says something about how the system is meant to be used: it rewards casting a spell and then attacking inside a short window, which ties the Relic slot to the Arcana rather than leaving it as a flat stat boost.
On how strong Relics are in practice, the one account that addressed it directly described them as useful but not decisive, the sort of thing a player is glad to have and can manage without. Treat that as an impression of a pre-release build rather than as a balance statement.
The full Relic roster has not been published. Three named Relics are documented here: Crypt Key, Twilight Gem and Family's Grace. Crypt Key and Twilight Gem have stated effects, while Family's Grace has no published effect. Twilight Gem's thirty per cent bonus lasts three seconds after casting a spell. Relics from earlier entries do not establish this game's roster or rules.
Coverage of the preview build occasionally uses a different word for the same system. Konami's term is Relic, and that is the term used across this wiki.
