Somu the Dreamer is an NPC encountered in the late portion of the Alabaster Dawn launch content. Somu acts as the gateway to Roguelite Mode, the dream-world challenge layer added at Early Access launch. The Dreamer is the source of the Sleep Token vendor menu and the curator of the blessings that Juno can earn inside a roguelite run.

Overview

Encountering Somu

Somu becomes available after Juno has completed the Trial of Aether and returned to Lyhamn. The Dreamer is positioned near the settlement edge in a quiet area away from the main quest givers. Approaching Somu opens the Roguelite Mode menu and offers Juno a first run.

What Somu Offers

• Run entry. Talking to Somu starts a Roguelite Mode run. Runs can be restarted at any later checkpoint by returning to Somu.

• Sleep Token vendor. After a run completes, Sleep Tokens earned can be spent at Somu's menu on permanent perks that carry into the next run.

• Blessings catalog. Somu's vendor menu also displays the catalog of blessings that can be offered during a run, so the player knows which categories have been unlocked.

Lore and Tone

Somu is presented as a sleeper who experiences the world through the dream layer. The Dreamer's dialogue frames Roguelite Mode as a training space inside the dream rather than a parallel timeline, and the rewards as fragments of the dream brought back to the waking world. Tone-wise, Somu reads as melancholic and patient, in contrast to the more direct quest-giver NPCs in Lyhamn.

Why Talk to Somu

• Roguelite Mode is the only source of Sleep Tokens, which feed permanent perks.

• Runs are a useful practice ground for parries, weapon-switch slowdown, and Divine Art timing against tighter enemy pacing.

• Somu's catalog of blessings will likely expand across future Early Access patches as more Aspects and Divine Arts ship.
