Claio Solas, the Divine Sword of Vasia, is one of the four obtainable Divine weapons in Alabaster Dawn's launch build. It is a fast melee weapon dealing Slashing damage and is the first weapon Juno receives, making it the default melee option for the entire early game.
Claio Solas, Divine Sword of Vasia.
A broadsword that delivers quick slash attacks. Claio was the weapon of Vasia of the Firstborn. It is said that when the sword was swung by her, a divine song filled the air and all who listened were purified of malice.
"A sword to cleave sorrow and pave the way to progress."
Claio Solas is given to Juno by Cabbage at Koro Valley - Cliff-Side Shelter, immediately before an ambush by a group of Sphera. This is the first proper combat encounter of Chapter 1, and the sword is also the weapon used in the cooking-pot tutorial when the player follows Estera's bidding back at Lyhamn.
Two basic attacks are unlocked from the start, with a third hidden one added by certain ledge interactions:
Move | Description |
|---|---|
Water Dance | The base combo, performed by mashing the attack button. Two forward slashes followed by a 360-degree spin attack. The final spin hits twice and counts as a Finisher. |
River Tap | Replaces the first attack of Water Dance when starting from a dash. A faster forward sweep that is otherwise similar in shape. Continuing to press attack flows directly into the second hit of Water Dance. |
Jump Attack | A hidden move that does not appear in the Growth Chart. Pressing attack while airborne triggers a front-flip into an overhead slam. |
Five Combat Arts are unlockable in the Growth Chart, each costing one Growth Point. They expand Claio Solas's offensive vocabulary considerably and define the weapon's role in any given build.
Hold the attack button to charge, then release for a powerful dual sweep around Juno. Movement during the charge is slow but possible, and holding the direction extends the area of effect. Strong against grouped enemies and when used immediately after a parry.
Hold attack after a Back Step to start charging, then release for a long, aimable thrust attack that hits multiple enemies in a line. Releasing early or simply tapping the button performs River Tap instead, so timing matters. Useful for closing distance and getting back into a combo from a defensive reset.
Hold attack after the first hit of Water Dance for a flurry of stab attacks in front of Juno, ending with one big stab that counts as a Finisher. The flurry quickly fills the break bar of the targeted enemy, making Rain Fall one of Claio Solas's main stagger tools.
Press attack after a successful parry for a fast counter stab. The stab automatically faces the parried attacker and can hit multiple enemies in a line, pushing them along with Juno. Best used as the immediate follow-up to a clean parry.
Wait briefly after the second attack of Water Dance, then press attack three more times for an extended combo: a jumping spin attack, a double slash, and a frontflip into an overhead smash. The final hit counts as a Finisher and is especially effective against broken enemies.
Two Minor Gem Slot nodes are available in the Growth Chart, each costing one Growth Point. These nodes do nothing in the launch build because no minor weapon gems are obtainable yet. Once minor gems become craftable, the slots will let players further tune Claio Solas inside its currently equipped Aspect.
An earlier showcase build briefly included a Fluid Cadence node that increased an undefined "Cadence" stat after hitting an enemy with the last attack of Water Dance. The node was cut from the public demo because the underlying Cadence mechanic was not implemented. It may return in a later patch.
