The Bovarks is an enemy in Alabaster Dawn. It is a small bull-like Nuemera with large horns and rocky armor covering the front half of its body. In-game text theorizes it to be a Nyx-corrupted motoyaki. The Bovarks is most common in the Aurum Plains, where it is powerful enough for a regular enemy that it often acts as a miniboss.

Combat
The Bovarks has three attacks. Its first is a lunge that swings an arm at Juno; this can be parried. Its second is an unguardable charge that tracks Juno in a mostly straight line and only stops when it hits a wall, after which the Bovarks is briefly stunned. Its third is a charged slam: it rears up on its hind legs and counts up to three, then slams down for a massive shockwave plus three tracking trails of smaller shockwaves. Approaching while it charges makes it release early at one or two, producing a weaker version with fewer trails.
The Bovarks is resistant to Slashing and Piercing damage and takes increased break accumulation from Blunt. Its front is very heavily armored, greatly reducing all damage there, and it normally turns to face Juno. The most reliable ways to build its break bar are to parry its attacks or to strike it from behind right after the charge attack leaves it exposed. Because of its very high health, it can be hard to finish before it recovers from a break.
Locations
Koro Valley: Grand Passage, during Nuemera Island.
Aurum Plains: Stone Call Inn, North Bend, and River Road during Freeing Sundalan, with several respawning spawns across the region once the Sundalan nest is woven.

Drops
The Bovarks drops Bovarks Essence at a 71% rate.
Tips
Bring a Blunt option. The Hammer (Ortrom Solas) builds its break bar far faster than Slashing or Piercing weapons.
Circle behind it after the charge attack. The rear is unarmored, and the post-charge stun is the cleanest damage window.
Save a parry for the charged slam. Parrying the initial slam grants more break the higher it was charged, but a mistimed parry there hurts a lot.
