11 Expedition: Ordeal is a custom-difficulty mode for selected Expedition Dungeons in AION 2. NCsoft announced it under this name in June 2026 as part of Chapter 1. Lands of Sand and Snow, and the first Ordeal opened on the Korean and Taiwanese service on July 15, 2026. The Korean name is 시련; this wiki previously called it Trials.

33 The Ordeal is entered from the Expedition interface. Players set four conditions, a time limit, a resurrection limit, a boss buff and a dungeon debuff on the party, and the stages chosen add up to the final difficulty. Each difficulty pays out once a week, resetting on Wednesday, in an Ordeal-only currency spent at the Ordeal shop in the Expedition menu.

1010 Time Limit, Revival Limit, Boss Enhance and PC Weaken are the setting names in the game client's English data; the Korean notes describe them as a time limit, a resurrection limit, boss strengthening and weakening of the player characters. The difficulty is set in the room settings before entering. Player guides for the Vakron Ordeal note that revival allowances count per boss and reset when the next boss starts.

On August 12, 2026 it added an accessory version of the rampant fear energy item (폭주한 공포의 기운: 장신구), and on August 19 a wing item. Since September 9, 2026 players can commend a party member after an Ordeal clear. On October 7, 2026 the Expedition Exchange Shop added a top-grade refining stone.
