Wolf Head Trophy is a decorative trophy item in Windrose, taken from Alpha Wolves. The item can be wall-mounted at a player base and contributes a +1 Trophy Comfort bonus when displayed.
Note: the craftable wall decoration built from this drop is catalogued as Trophy Wolf, whose recipe is five Hardwood, one Wolf Head, and four Nails. This page covers the trophy drop and its display behaviour; see Trophy Wolf for the exact build cost and Max Health.
Wolf Head is a guaranteed-pool drop from Alpha Wolves at 50 percent per kill. Standard Wolves do not drop the trophy; only the Alpha variant carries it. Alpha Wolves den primarily in the Foothills biome and appear in fixed perimeter packs at certain quest-anchor points such as the Ancient Village that rewards the Boar Whistle.
Farming the trophy is a function of clearing repeat Alpha Wolf spawns. The 50 percent rate means an average run needs two Alpha kills per trophy, with variance pushing some runs to three or more. Bringing Pierce damage weapons is the standard counter, since the wolf line's Defence value is tuned for Pierce-based scaling more than Slash.
The Wolf Head Trophy is wall-mounted from the Decorations tab of the Building Panel. It anchors flush against vertical surfaces and accepts the same alignment snaps as other small wall decorations. Once placed, it contributes +1 to the Trophy comfort category.
Trophy comfort is its own category in the Windrose Comfort system. The +1 bonus does not stack with itself across multiple Wolf Heads in the same room, but it does stack with comfort contributions from other categories (Pier, Canopy, Fire, and so on). Mixing trophies (Wolf Head plus Boar Head plus Crocodile Head) in the same room still returns the single +1 Trophy node, so the trophies function as a fixed contribution rather than an accumulating one.
Hotfix 0.10.0.4.268 on April 30, 2026 gave the Wolf Head Trophy a new model and texture. The replacement model better matches the in-world Alpha Wolf appearance and renders cleanly at the wall-mounted scale. The earlier model was sometimes criticized for clipping its mount or showing texture seams at common viewing angles.
Hotfix 0.10.0.5.120 on May 4, 2026 then updated the Wolf Head item icon to match the in-world model after the texture refresh. Players who picked up the trophy before the May patch should see the new icon automatically the next time the inventory opens; no manual reload is needed.
