The Tainted Mask is a wooden mask of an infected swamp dweller, the corrupted counterpart of the priestly Ritual Mask. Unlike the unaltered Ritual Mask, the Tainted Mask is a Crafting reagent: it is used to produce Essence Arborum.

The Tainted Mask is a drop from corrupted Senkamati creatures encountered across the swamp biome of the Cursed Swamps. Only the diseased, plague-ridden variants carry it; the ordinary jungle Senkamati near Tortuga drop the clean Ritual Mask instead. Because it is gated to one enemy family in one biome, the mask is the limiting reagent for Essence Arborum, so clearing swamp Senkamati camps is the main route to building a stockpile.
The mask shares its loot pool with other corrupted-Senkamati materials such as Plague Marks, so a single farming run usually returns both at once. Each mask weighs 0.3 kg and stacks to 20, so a full inventory column holds enough to convert into a meaningful batch of Essence Arborum before you need to return to a base.
The Tainted Mask has no listed vendor sale entry: it is treated as a Crafting reagent rather than a Trade Goods, so its worth is the Essence Arborum you refine from it, not a fixed Guinea price. Hold every one you find for the Essence Arborum recipe rather than selling them off.
