Tainted Bile is an endgame Cursed Swamps resource in Windrose, dropped exclusively from Plague Crocodiles. It is a required ingredient for Ingot Arborum at the Enchanting Table (1 Mire Metal Ingot + 2 Essence Arborum + 1 Tainted Bile) and for several other endgame alchemical and crafting recipes. Plan farming runs around the deep Cursed Swamps where Plague Crocodiles spawn most densely.

Tainted Bile is the corrupted digestive fluid of plague-affected crocodiles. Its alchemical properties are directly tied to the supernatural plague spreading through the Cursed Swamps. The fact that Tainted Bile is required for the Enchanting Table's endgame recipes implies that the player must literally weaponize the plague against itself: refining the corruption into an alchemical reagent powerful enough to enchant weapons against the supernatural threats of the late game.

Whether the plague originated with the High Priestess, with some older corruption tied to Columbus's Book of Prophecies, or with some other source, is part of the Cursed Swamps' unfolding mystery.
