A framed canvas of fruit and household objects that look frozen in time, hence the name. As a wall piece it suits cabins, captain's quarters, and any residence room that needs a touch of culture.

Still Life is part of the Paintings decoration line. It is crafted from Wood for the frame and a generous amount of Linen Fabric for the canvas, and it is sturdier than the small book and shelf pieces.

How to Obtain

Still Life is unlocked from the Decoration: Paintings Set plan and placed from the building menu in one second. The Linen Fabric cost is the main thing to prepare for, so weave a stack of cloth before you start hanging art.

Comfort and Placement

Like every furnishing in this group, the piece only feeds your settlement score when it sits inside the radius of a Bonfire. Set it down outside that range and it still works as scenery, but it adds nothing to the Comfort System total. Inside the radius it grants +1 Comfort toward the Paintings category.

That bonus does not stack with other items of the same category, so one Paintings piece already supplies the full category contribution. You raise the overall comfort tier by mixing different decoration categories around a single bonfire rather than crowding the room with copies of one model. In practice this makes the build a cheap, fast way to tick the Paintings box while you save scarcer materials for gear and ships.

Still Life is one of several canvases in the Paintings set, all sharing the same comfort category. Pick whichever subject fits the room; since the bonus does not stack, one painting in range of a bonfire covers the category:

Tips

• Choose a single painting per room for comfort; the Paintings bonus does not stack, so extra canvases are purely cosmetic.

• It must hang within the Bonfire radius to count toward the Comfort System total.

• Stockpile Linen Fabric before decorating, as every painting in the set is cloth-heavy.
