Side Quests

Initial version (2026-04-19): Overview, Side Quests index table, and linked category pages
Side Quests run parallel to the main story in Windrose. Most trigger from looted notes, diary fragments, or NPC dialogue rather than from a dedicated quest-giver, which means the player can collect multiple side-quest threads before consciously choosing to work on any one of them. Side quests in the launch build focus on buried-treasure hunts, investigation chains that overlap with main-story beats, and Swamps/Highlands lore threads that seed the Forgotten Relics artifact storyline.
The ten tracked side quests confirmed in the in-game quest log for Windrose version 0.10.0 are listed below. Side quests do not have to be finished in any specific order, though some (The Bitter Pill, Underground Network) require main-story progression to reach their trigger locations.

Buried-treasure notes (Fifteen Men on a Dead Man's Chest, Eyes Wide with Fear) trigger from looting a diary fragment that auto-marks the dig location on the journal.
Stargazers and priest legends (Fate of the Prophets, Jokes of the Gods) trigger from translating altars at Swamps or Highlands ritual sites.
Investigation chains (The Bitter Pill, Mystery of the Expedition) trigger from NPC dialogue with main-story characters and overlap with main-quest routes.
Faction-adjacent lore (Underground Network, Glorious Hunters) triggers from looting lore items at Pirate Camps or at faction-specific sites.
