Short Elegant Curtain belongs to the Curtains decoration line. It is built rather than looted and combines Rope with Linen Fabric, placing it a tier above the plain cloth curtains in both look and durability.

How to Obtain

You unlock Short Elegant Curtain from the Decoration: Elegant Curtains and Shelves plan, then place it from the building menu in one second. Stock up on Linen Fabric before a decorating session, since the elegant curtains lean on cloth where the plain variants do not.

Comfort and Placement

Like every furnishing in this group, the piece only feeds your settlement score when it sits inside the radius of a Bonfire. Set it down outside that range and it still works as scenery, but it adds nothing to the Comfort System total. Inside the radius it grants +1 Comfort toward the Curtains category.

That bonus does not stack with other items of the same category, so one Curtains piece already supplies the full category contribution. You raise the overall comfort tier by mixing different decoration categories around a single bonfire rather than crowding the room with copies of one model. In practice this makes the build a cheap, fast way to tick the Curtains box while you save scarcer materials for gear and ships.

Curtain Sections and Variants

The elegant curtain comes in left, middle, and right sections at different widths so you can dress a wide window without one oversized panel. All of them share the Curtains comfort category, and because the bonus does not stack you only need one curtain piece in range for the category credit. The plain Curtains line is cheaper but less ornate.

Tips

• Mix the short, medium, and long sections to frame a wide window cleanly; only one needs to sit in the Bonfire radius for the comfort credit.

• Keep Linen Fabric stocked, since the elegant curtains cost more cloth than the plain Curtains line.

• Use other decoration categories alongside it to push the Comfort System tier higher.
