The Scratches On The Altar is the closing fragment of the Senkamati downfall story, written in the same voice as the three Murals. The text is brief, defeated, and final: the ritual described in the Third Mural did not save the speaker.

Lore Context

Written in the same defeated voice as the three Murals, this fragment is the textual conclusion to the Senkamati extinction story. The ritual promised in the Third Mural did not save the speaker, and the line 'this sanctuary will be my grave' marks the end of the cult's devotion to Itzeltek, the Lord of Death.

It rounds out the tablet set begun in First Mural and Second Mural. The obsidian blade referenced earlier in the sequence ties the altar to the Ritual Dagger players recover from the same ruins.

Obtaining

A quest reward from the Forgotten Relics quest. It is a readable lore item that stacks up to 10 and completes the Mural set; it has no combat or crafting use.
