Initial Rum Bottle article
Rum Bottle is a Rare-tier food item in Windrose that functions mostly as a crafting reagent rather than a standalone consumable. It does not grant a buff when drunk on its own, but it is a required ingredient in six different drink and elixir recipes, which puts it at the center of any player's combat-preparation supply chain.
"The finest seasoning for any pirate dish. Obtained from pirates."
Source | Drop Rate | Quantity |
|---|---|---|
Grenadier (pirate enemy) | 20% | 1 per kill |
Supply Cache | 100% | 1 to 5 per cache |
Tortuga merchants | Always in stock | 10 Piastres per bottle |
Farming Grenadiers is the fastest way to stockpile Rum Bottles early; later in progression, Supply Caches looted during ship raids and Pirate Camp clears scale much faster. The Tortuga merchant price of 10 Piastres per bottle is cheap enough that buying out the merchant before a crafting session is usually faster than farming.
Rum Bottle appears in the recipes for the three confirmed grog variants and Homeward Journey, plus two additional drink recipes not yet fully documented.
Recipe | Rum Bottles Required | Station |

Master Combat Repair Kit | 5 | Workbench (Sawhorse upgrade) |
A single boss-prep cycle consumes roughly 5 to 9 Rum Bottles depending on which grog the player brews. Running out mid-session is the main frustration players report, so a typical mid-game supply target is 20 to 30 bottles in the chest at base. When farming, prioritize Supply Caches over individual Grenadier kills: the 100% drop rate scales better than the 20% per-enemy chance.
Dead Eye Grog - the damage grog that uses 4 Rum Bottles per craft
Homeward Journey - utility potion using 1 Rum Bottle
Alchemy Table - primary crafting station
