Rolling Home is one of the traditional sea shanties included on the official Windrose Original Soundtrack. A traditional shanty that appears on the Windrose OST in both trailer and full versions. It thematically caps off the game's shanty repertoire as a song of returning home after a voyage.

On the Soundtrack

The track appears on the Windrose: Original Soundtrack (Steam App 4564200), released alongside the April 14, 2026 Early Access launch. Vocals are performed by Sean Dagher, the same shantyman who recorded the sea shanties for Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag. Arrangements are by the Kraken Express audio team.

Origin

"Rolling Home" is a traditional 19th-century sea song (sometimes classified as a ballad rather than a strict shanty, since it is less tied to a specific work task). Its content celebrates the voyage home from distant waters, traditionally from the Pacific or Indian Ocean trade.

In-Game

Triggered at the ship's helm by pressing B while under sail. NPC crew members on deck join the vocals while you steer between islands. Shanties pause when combat begins (naval cannons take priority) and resume once the engagement ends.

• Note: A standalone "Rolling Home" single release by Kraken Express on Spotify/Apple Music was referenced in early community writeups, but no such single has been verified in primary sources. The shanty exists only on the official OST at this time.

• An unrelated 2013 "Rolling Home" recording by "Shanty-Chor Windrose Hamburg" (a German shanty choir that shares the name) exists on Spotify but is not associated with the game.
