Piers is shoreline platform pieces that extend flooring over water. Windrose offers 5 pier pieces used to build docks, waterside paths, and Wharf approaches.

Piers are a structural piece and must not be confused with the Wharf station. Piers are building blocks (like Floors and Foundations) used to extend a platform over water. The Wharf is a craft station that goes on top of a pier and lets you repair and customize ships.
The typical naval-base layout: Bonfire + Tent on land -> Pier pieces stepping out over the water -> Wharf station at the end of the pier, within Bonfire range. The Shipwright's Workshop can be added inland or on the pier itself depending on your space.
Pier pieces are the only structural pieces that can extend over water. Every shoreline build must start with a Pier.
The Wharf station requires both a shoreline placement and Bonfire range. Budget pier length accordingly to reach deeper water.
