Initial version
Nails are a basic crafting and construction material in Windrose, used in storage containers, ships, and higher-tier building recipes. They are produced by smelting ingots at the Workbench or scavenged from coastal shipwrecks.
Source | Yield |
|---|---|
Workbench (craft) | 1 Copper Ingot = 5 Nails |
Workbench (craft) | 1 Iron Ingot = 10 Nails |
Shipwrecks on island shores | Random small batches |
The two-for-one Iron-to-Nails conversion means mid-game players should save their Foothills Iron Ingots for Nails when the alternative is another copper-tier processing run. A single Iron Ingot fills the Nails requirement for several large structures.
Storage chests and building pieces. Most mid-tier base-building recipes consume 5 to 20 Nails per structure
Hull Bracing. The base Hull Bracing recipe uses 5 Nails alongside 5 Copper Ingots and 30 Wood
Toolbox attachment. The Toolbox crafting attachment costs 20 Nails, 10 Wood, and 5 Iron Ingots at the Workbench
Ships. Many Shipwright's Workshop recipes include Nails as structural material in the hull
Shipwrecks are scattered along coastlines throughout the Coastal Jungle and Foothills biomes. Searching the broken beams and crates yields Wood, small amounts of Coarse Fabric, and several Nails per wreck. For a starting-island player, a single shipwreck sweep can skip the first ingot-to-Nails run entirely.
