Momentum is a talent in the Crusher branch of the Windrose Talent System. Rewards hitting multiple enemies in a single swing. Stacks up if a swing hits 2+ enemies; stacks fall off if swings hit fewer. At rank 3 with max stacks = +27% damage on a chained multi-hit swing.

Situational. Strong for mob-clear specialists using Halberds (wide sweeps) or Greatswords. A trap for boss-focused builds, because the two-enemy condition never procs on a solo boss.
Momentum sits at Tier 2 of the Crusher branch, so it opens up after you spend at least one point in the Tier 1 Crusher talents. It costs one point per rank across three ranks. Because respec is free in Windrose, you can test Momentum for a mob-clear loadout and refund it before a boss fight without losing progress; see Stats and Talents for how the respec works.
Within the wider Talent System, the Crusher branch is the wide-arc, multi-target line. Momentum scales that identity directly: the more bodies each swing catches, the faster stacks build.

Momentum is the wide-swing talent. Halberds and Greatswords that hit multiple enemies in one swing are the native beneficiaries; every Crusher camp-clear build folds this in.
A Halberd swing that hits 2 enemies in one arc gains 1 Momentum stack. A chained swing hitting 2+ enemies again adds a 2nd stack; a third adds the max 3rd stack. At rank 3 (+9% per stack) the fully-stacked Halberd deals +27% damage per swing, making late-combo swings hit significantly harder than openers.
Stacks fall off on swings that hit fewer than 2 enemies. This means isolated single-target swings cannot maintain the buff; it is a mob-clear exclusive layer.
Pairs well with Dominating Presence, which triggers on kills within 8m. Chained kills feed both talents at once, so a single wide swing that kills two enemies can build a Momentum stack and proc Dominating Presence in the same beat.
It also overlaps naturally with Outnumbered, since both reward fighting groups: the conditions that keep Momentum stacked are the same crowded fights where Outnumbered is active.
