The Medium Curtain is the medium-width section of the gray Curtains wall dressing. Windrose splits this drape into three modular widths so you can fit a window or wall of any size: the Short Curtain, this medium piece, and the Long Curtain. Lined up side by side they read as one continuous gray panel, which is why most builders place all three together rather than on their own.
For a warmer, regal look the same plan also unlocks the red-and-green elegant variants: the Short Elegant Curtain, Medium Elegant Curtain, and Long Elegant Curtain. Both styles share the curtain Comfort category and can be combined with Curtain Rails for a finished window.
Its Max Health of 3,000 represents how much punishment the structure absorbs before it is destroyed. Decorations are not combat structures, so this mainly matters during raids or stray area damage; a destroyed piece must be rebuilt from the same materials.
Each section is cheap to put up, costing one Rope and five Linen Fabric, and it raises almost instantly with a build time of one second. Linen Fabric is the woven cloth crafted from plant fibers, so a small stock of it covers a full set of curtains across a room.
Material | Quantity | Notes |
|---|---|---|
x1 | Twisted fiber cordage used to hang the drape. | |
x5 | Woven cloth that forms the body of the curtain. |
The recipe is learned from the Decoration: Elegant Curtains and Shelves plan, which also teaches the elegant curtains and matching shelf decorations.
Every decoration in this category contributes to your settlement's Comfort rating, the housing score that rewards captains for building a pleasant base rather than a bare one. This piece grants a +1 bonus to the Curtains category. Comfort bonuses inside a single category do not stack, so building several pieces from the same group does not multiply the bonus; each one still reports the same +1 value.
Like all furnishings, it only functions when placed inside the radius of a Bonfire. Outside that range it still stands as built but stops counting toward Comfort, so position decorations near the fire that anchors your camp. Mixing pieces from different Comfort categories is the practical way to push the overall score higher.
Place the Short, Medium, and Long sections in a row to form one unbroken gray drape across a wide window or wall.
Keep a reserve of Linen Fabric before a decorating session; a single room of curtains can use several pieces quickly.
Because the Comfort bonus does not stack within the category, spread your budget across different decoration categories to lift the overall score rather than stacking identical curtains.
