The Long Elegant Curtain is the long right-hand panel of a red and green hanging cloth, one of the decorative pieces in the Curtains set. It is a cosmetic build that hangs from a Curtain Rails rod and adds a touch of color to a cabin or great room. Like every comfort decoration it only counts while it sits inside Bonfire range, the lit area that the Comfort System uses to score a room.

Unlock the recipe from the Decoration: Elegant Curtains and Shelves plan, then craft the panel for 1 Rope and 5 Linen Fabric. The build finishes in one second and the placed piece has 3,000 Max Health, so it survives stray fire during a raid as well as any other wall fixture.
Hang the panel from a Curtain Rails rod above a window or open archway. The rod itself gives no comfort, only the cloth does, so the panel is what registers the +1 Curtains bonus once it is within Bonfire range. Comfort within the Curtains sub-category does not stack: a second curtain piece changes the look of the room but adds no extra comfort, so spread different sub-categories around the room rather than doubling up on curtains.
The Curtains set is built from several interchangeable panels. Each costs the same Rope and Linen Fabric and grants the same +1 bonus; pick by color and length to suit the window.
