The Kraken Ink is a ship hull color cosmetic in Windrose, applied at the Shipwright to customize a player ship's hull paintwork. The Kraken Ink design is associated with Blackbeard's Crew.
The paint is so dark and rich that the hull seems coated in ink from monsters of the ocean depths.

Kraken Ink is purely cosmetic. Applying it repaints the hull and changes nothing about a ship's speed, cargo space, hull strength, or cannon slots, so it can be used freely on any build without a combat trade-off. For functional upgrades to the hull itself, see Hull Modification, which is a separate system from paint colors.
Bring the ship to a Shipwright-built Wharf, open the customization menu, and select the matching hull slot. Kraken Ink appears in the option list once the unlock condition (Style Book or stock availability) is met.
The Blackbeard ship designs are not sold by a player-facing provisioner. Players obtain the matching Style Book by looting Blackbeard outposts and capturing Blackbeard ships through boarding, after which the design becomes available at the Shipwright. The stock starter palette is unlocked separately by the Style Book: Stock Hull Colors.
This cosmetic name appears in the database under the Brig-class entry, but the underlying design is shared across Brig, Frigate, and Ketch hull classes. Once the Style Book is read, the option is available for every ship class your character has built or unlocked.

Hull colors are stored per ship, so each vessel in your fleet can wear a different paint scheme. Once the Style Book is read the Kraken Ink option stays unlocked permanently for that character and reappears every time you open the customization menu at the Wharf. The dark Brethren-style finish pairs naturally with the Brig and other captured Blackbeard hulls.
